Former British boy bander and current bisexual babe Lee Ryan has finally addressed accusations that he is 100 percent gay in a lengthy tweet directed at “Twitter trolls and bullies.”
He doesn’t care that people think he is gay, he says, because “sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified”:
I’ve been asked by a few people why I haven’t reacted over recent claims & my answer is this.. “The claims that I am gay don’t faze me. I don’t care if people think I’m gay, why would I care? I would be proud. Sexuality doesn’t need to be defended or justified.
In 2014 when individual sexuality is being celebrated, it’s odd that Twitter trolls and bullies focus on sexuality in a derogatory way. We have created change as a society, a really brilliant change and to those people who have not yet caught up to 2014 (for whatever reason) please just open your minds and begin to think #equal.
Everyone is allowed to be individual.
The former Blue singer revealed in January that he had had sex with men before in a frank discussion about orgies on Celebrity Big Brother UK. He began dating fellow houseguest Jasmine Waltz while on the show and, most recently, was the target of gay rumors when she claimed he cheated on her with a man.
In unrelated news, he takes a mean bathroom selfie:

I kind of like this guy. At least he keeps it real:) Plus the selfie isn’t half bad! 🙂

An elegant and dignified response. I would hit that sideways and upside down.

A great response, and honestly, should shame a lot of other people who succumb to defending their sexuality. If you don’t accept or believe that your sexual preference, sexual identity or gender is flawed it really does take a lot of power away from people who might choose to use it against you.

He’s smart and THAT is sexy beyond any classification.
Comes in a close second to Jamie Bell: “People are concerned about my sexuality, when I probably won’t be sexual with them. I haven’t fallen for a bloke yet, but I’m not opposed.”

@BrianZ: Lovely comment. When one looks at celebs like Tom Cruise who is terrified of his sexuality; or Jodie Foster for whom sexuality seemed like a nasty topic for so long; Lee Ryan comes across as a mental giant.

it’s just that people think the stop in bi town is to cushion the blow- as Tom Daley has basically admitted….if Ryan has truly LOVED both a man and a woman, then he’s truly bi- and good luck to him.

Best response ever.
There’s really only one time when a person’s sexuality can rightfully be questioned and that is if YOU are about to have sex with that person. It’s no one else’s business.
But, oh my, he IS quite a good-looking man.

I don’t want to take away from the great way that Lee has responded to this but I have to laugh when people call him smart or clever. Bless his cotton socks. He’s a well meaning guy who, being a famous womaniser and clearly heteroflexible, can have moments on insight. But he is well known as the quintessential dumb blonde.

@Zodinsbrother: I watched him on Celebrity Big Brother & read the tweet, I can assure you he most certainly did not write that.
Zodinsbrother
I’m sure he didn’t write it either, no celebrity writes their statements. They have people on payroll for that. Though he almost certainly agreed it, which in the end is the main point,.

Michael Stipe of REM once said- ‘The only person who should worried about my dick is the person sitting on it!’
