Manny Pacquiao’s weeklong homophobic meltdown took a disturbing turn after he posted a photo with a violently antigay biblical verse via Instagram.

Pacquiao has had a very eventful, extremely homophobic week: he compared gays to animals on Filipino TV, followed it up with a weaksauce Twitter apology, got dropped by Nike, and was scolded by former ring opponent Floyd Mayweather and NBA legend Magic Johnson, whose son E.J. is gay:

Apparently, Pacquiao’s apology wasn’t genuine, because after being dropped by Nike and scolded by Magic Johnson, he posted the following photo to Instagram:

In case you need to squint your eyes a bit too much to read that homophobia, it says:

“Luke 6:22-23 [22] Blessed are you when people hate you, when the exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. [23] Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. Leviticus 18:22 [22] Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a women; that is detestable.

Leviticus 20:13 [13] If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 [9] Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolators nor adulterers nor…”

Pacquiao deleted the Instagram, but not soon enough for someone to screenshot it. We’re not sure what’s more disturbing: the post or the fact that it got over 18,000 likes.

Pacquiao is still very wealthy, but he’s very stupid and pretty much done as far as endorsement deals go. He strikes us as…not very smart, so we’ll just chalk this one up to a few thousand too many punches to the head.

It looks like he just learned what so many others have learned before him: homophobia doesn’t pay, and this time it hit him in his wallet…where it counts.
