Congratulations to Jose Maria Di Bello, the gay rights, activist, and Alex Freyre, who just became Argentina’s first gay couple to legally wed. Oh, they’re also Latin America’s first as well. “The couple had previously tried to marry in the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires,” notes the AP, “but were thwarted by city officials citing conflicting judicial rulings. Argentina’s Constitution is silent on whether marriage must be between a man and a woman, effectively leaving the matter to state and city officials. Tierra del Fuego Gov. Fabiana Rios said in a statement that gay marriage ‘is an important advance in human rights and social inclusion and we are very happy that this has happened in our state.'”

As a gay man I will not vacation in places like Jamaica…..looks like I need to start planning a vacation to Argentina, specifically to Tierra Del Fuego. They’ve been having a rough time of it, time to bring them some American Tourist Dollars to help out!
