In case you haven’t heard, the financial markets have been a little shaky in recent weeks. And right-wing pastor Kevin Swanson knows why: Gay people. Specifically, a bisexual economist from Britain who’s been dead for 70 years.
John Maynard Keynes was a highly regarded British financial expert who helped shape modern economics as we know them today. He was also bisexual, which Swanson, who once threatened to smear poop all over himself if his son ever married a man, considers to be the same thing as gay. And because of this, the pastor feels Keynes’ ideas should not be taken seriously, lest they result in the world ending.

While speaking on his “Generations Radio” program this week, Swanson predicted that people will look back on America generations from now and realize that the country was completely destroyed by Keynes, who died in 1946, and the ideas thought up in his gay brain.

“It will be interesting to know that a homosexual ruined the world,” Swanson said. “Somebody will indeed write the story about this in the year 2060 or 2070, no doubt. This will be the great exposé of how the world economies came down all because of a homosexual who was promiscuous.”
But not just promiscuous, Swanson added, Keynes was “perhaps one of the most wicked, flagrantly licentious men who has lived in the modern world.”

“It makes a lot of sense,” Swanson babbled on. “Sexual nihilism, of course, will produce sexual burnout, and that must be tied to economic burnout and epistemological burnout as well when societies lose the will to live!”
Yes, you read that correctly, folks. Entire civilizations will essentially kill themselves because of one man who happened to have sex with another man sometime during the first half of the 20th century.
The obvious follow-up question to Swanson’s argument, of course, is: How will people even be able look back in the year 2060 or 2070 if humanity has been obliterated?

Kevin Swanson understands that men have high and constant sex drives. Yes, if they are promiscuous in their behavior, it does demean the nuclear family. Male promiscuity presents a threat to the nuclear family as it means that the male gallivants rather than stays at home with the wife to nurture his family.
So, yes, Kevin Swanson is partly right. However, he is wrong to blame it on homosexuality per se. If the practitioner of homosexuality is wise and restrained, it doesn’t destroy. It’s the practitioner, stupid, and not the homosexuality per se.
It’s interesting to note that Kevin has failed to mention women. It is my view that when women increasingly prostitute themselves, society generally becomes less equal and more licentious. This is great for men in the gay scene who depend on women to enable their own promiscuity as men, but it is generally not a good way to maintain an ordered and equal society.
When gay-identifying men use promiscuous females – often prostitutes – to justify their own promiscuity, that’s when society starts to decline.

I am not a fan of Keynesian economics, which basically theorizes that a country can spend more to become prosperous. But if that theory does ruin the world, it won’t be because Keynes was bisexual or because he was promiscuous, which he certainly was. There is no more connection between those two things than If I said the “poop pastor” was a wacko because he’s heterosexual.
Personally, I don’t have anywhere near the problem with Keynes’s sex life that I have with his politics. It’s his economic theories that have gotten us to the point of having a $15 trillion national debt.

Kevin Swanson is partly right but he makes the mistake of confusing homosexuality with promiscuity. They are two totally different words with totally different meanings.
Many Right-wingers confuse the two words, either deliberately or because they lack the ability to think clearly.
If they took time to think logically about it, they would be able to come to a more cogent argument about human sexuality, and one that does not demonize male homosexuality per se.

Here is a great interview with the biographer who wrote a book on John Maynard Keynes. The biographer says that many of the men who were born in the 1880’s lost their virginity with other men rather than with other women.
It further reinforces my point that the advancement of feminism in the 20th century has made it less likely – and more shameful – for men to engage in same-sex activity on a casual, non-gay-identifying basis.

Don’t diss Kevin Swanson completely. Through him, we are better able to understand the Right-wing mindset and how it chooses – deliberately or otherwise – to conflate male homosexuality with promiscuity.
We should also understand that the liberal mindset has used identity politics to restrict and segregate male homosexuality away from the mainstream. Liberals fear the notion that male homosexual desire might tempt men away from women, thus empowering men over women.

I guess he must not believe there is a such thing as a celibate gay or celibate in general because rest assured, that is far more dangerous to his cause of sexual materialism than sexually active gays. In the old testament marriage was polygamous and men could pretty much have as many women as their tongues could cope with (as they currently can in Islam including child brides cause, you know muhammad had one) be they wives, concubines, slaves, spoils of war and so forth. Promiscuity it seems is perfectly acceptable so long as it is fenced about with theocratic laws to preserve the family. One wonders how homosexual promiscuity (i.e. the “practitioner” of homosexuality as though being gay were some sort of career choice or sporting preference) affects the nuclear family in the absence of children?

Muslim majority countries are some of the most hedged about with limits of sexual expression and proclavities yet they are some of the biggest consumers of pornography and hardly the most enlightened and stable of entities. In the Roman empire a male citizen could pretty much have sexual relations with anyone including young boys so long as they were not citizens or someone else’s wife and occupied a lower social rung. The Roman empire lasted for centuries thank you very much and in the West collapsed not long after christianity was declared the state religion with all its anal retentive preoccupation with sex. Greece which gave us the rudiments of science, philosophy and democracy managed all this with in many instances, accepted or institutionalised pederasty i.e. homosexuality and promiscuity are hardly the cause of the downfall of civilisations.
Kevin Swanson would be bettered served looking the abhorrent prosperity gospel that substitutes wealth in this life for any real signs of the existence of his hideous deity. It’s so much easier to have a go at queers than think about what jesus actually spoke about and seemed to give a damn about more than virtually anything else i.e. the lust for money and its misuse. Attacking gays doesn’t cost you anything and certainly doesn’t involve any meaningful sacrifice like that purportedly enjoined by jesus, giving everything you own to the poor.

Uh, let’s not forget that Jesus was likely celibate! Getting really tired of guys trying to latch on to the Jesus thing when they fail to emulate him as well. I highly doubt Jesus would be “sex positive”. There is a reason prostitution is the oldest “profession”. There is a reciprocal relationship that exists between the “goods” and the other “goods”.
