PHOTOS: Straight Men In Singlets Wrestle And “Let Off Steam”

Jason Priestley recently appeared on Watch What Happens Live where he answered questions about being Brat Pitt’s roommate in the late ’80s.

“You were roommates with Brad Pitt in 1987,” Andy Cohen asked. “What was the most homoerotic thing that went on in that apartment?”

When Priestley struggled to find an answer, Andy helped him out: “Like, did you guys ever wrestle?”

This got us wondering about whether or not wrestling is, indeed, a homoerotic sport.

Scroll down to see pictures of men mounting one another wrestling, and let us know what you think in the comments section below: Are these guys being homoerotic, or are they just “letting off steam”?

  • rickyboi7

everyone knows wrestling is the gayest sport, except maybe for gymnastics. why would a str8 guy wanna put on some tights and roll around with another sweaty dude? I’m just glad they do!

  • jayj150

How does Queerty know these guys are straight?. Just by looking at them?.

  • Stache99

Wow. Pic # 3. Any deeper and they’d be fisting.

Of course wrestling is homoerotic. It involves deep body contact between two men. Few people know this, but it is very common for wrestlers to get sexually aroused, yes, erect, while wrestling.

Wrestling is an ancient sport, with roots in a society where homosexuality was widespread, accepted, even praised. Men wrestled naked. Legend says that Theseus of Athens invented wrestling.

@Billy Budd: SORRY, that was the wrong link. I won’t put more links because I don’t want to crowd the screen. Please search for “boner wrestling” or “erection wrestling” on youtube.

  • samwise343

@Billy Budd: I wonder if you would directly say these things to a bunch of wrestlers.

  • Billy Budd

@samwise343: Oh yes I would. They would probably NOT beat me to death. They would just lie and say: I know, but I don’t have boners that way.

  • James Hart

I’ve often wondered if some wrestlers wrestled because they could receive sexual stimulation with men while still using a “socially appropriate” outlet for their inclinations.

  • Lovelife

I’m into contact sports(wrestling and rugby) as a hobby and am gay. I think when you are busy doing it, the “sexual” part of it is the last thing on your mind. You just want to win.

But when seeing video footage, especially in wrestling, it’s an entirely differing story. There are places you “reach” down on to dominate your opponent and they are quite sexual positions you end up in.

I rarely get aroused though- no matter how attractive my opponent is.

  • NoCagada

I have met more than one guy who realized he was gay during high school or college wrestling…also have a friend who realized he was guy during the hazing to join a fraternity

  • Michael Michaels

I should of joined wrestling in high school

  • Dale Landefeld

wondering if a woody has happened often?
