The Stupids, otherwise known as federal Republican lawmakers, just can’t seem to do anything wrong, opines Rachel Maddow, the party’s mistress of mockery. But it’s so much easier to go after these winners when Michael Steele, the party’s outgoing chairman, stops by to play in the sandbox. “Republicans right now are not just off message, they are at war with themselves,” says Maddow. “They appear to be functionally leaderless. They appear to have no idea how to do the basic day-to-day work of running one of the branches of government.” Is Mr. Steele going to take this lying down?! (Steele arrives at around the 10:30 mark.)

I’m still trying to find the insult there. All I see are factual statements anyone with eyes can see. I wish she’d talk more about the problem BEHIND the Republican party’s overall implosion, though, since it’ll be the democrats next.
This is why we need to kick everyone out of congress, the senate and the supreme court in 2012 and start fresh with people who’ve never held office before. New blood, so to speak, and before they get sworn in, they need to take a basic competency test to make sure they understand what the Constitution actually says regarding controversial matters and swear to uphold it against all enemies, foreign and domestic…like Wall Street, big business and other swindlers and cheats draining this nation dry with their greed.
Only a massive upheaval like that can get this nation back on track. Until then, until we stop allowing lobbyists to bribe our elected representatives and turn a blind eye to their hypocrisy, no matter who is in ‘power’ publically, we all continue to lose.

From the little I have heard from Michael Steele over the past year or two, I’ve always thought he was one of the more common sense Republicans. Even when I disagreed with him, at least he was never screaming ‘Communist!’ or ‘Freedom Hater!’ at anyone and was always willing to go onto opposing venues (like Rachel’s or Jon Stewart).
No wonder they kicked him out, he wasn’t some fire breathing tea partier like the rest.

Compared to Steele, Maddow is the better-looking of these two guys (and is no doubt better hung as well).

I firmly believe that Republicans love America. I believe even more firmly that they despise the American people.

How many republicans support full equality for LGBT people that includes same-sex marriage? It claims its the party of inclusion, since when? Why is there no gay representation at their conventions? Why aren’t any of them championing equality for us? Why do the Log Cabiners persistently support a party that clearly doesn’t want them or their equality? Just look at their voting record in repealing DADT for starters and support of DOMA.
