SOUNDBITES — “The Catholic Church teaches to pay a just wage. The compensation package you use to pay that just wage isn’t defined by the church. Employers have the right to frame compensation packages. . . . At the end of the day, Catholic Charities is here serving the needy, after the law has passed, in complete conformity with the law.” Washington D.C.’s Archbishop Donald Wuerl, explaining why the Church nixed spousal benefits for all new employees (via)

Catholic Beggers at the Public Tit
Catholics are not supporting their own organizations because they have no say, and are fed up with the autocracy. That’s why the bishops are now into politics trying to get public funds to spend instead of donations. Reagan was the big “faith based initiatives” guy, and left us with this nasty legacy. The church folks all claim that they must be able to discriminate. The Salvation Army, Catholics, and Mormons are abot the worst. They all became Jerrry Falwell imitators, by moving religion into politics, and not about individuals doing right. Rick Warren (the prayer master at Obama’s Inauguration) is part of this religion=politics tradition. All these churches should be registered as PACs.
