Hooray for Urban Outfitters, which is launching a new 2017 fashion campaign highlighting diverse bodies. Take a look at their promotional images and you’ll see all different colors; all different shapes; all different genders, and all different clothing.
Just kidding about that last one, they’re all in white t-shirts and jeans, because Urban Outfitters’ clientele is too young to remember Gap in the ’90s.
At any rate, Urban Outfitters even included a trans model, which is delightful and also becoming increasingly commonplace for ready-to-wear brands. UO’s model is Hari Nef, who is 24 and recently appeared in a Blue Velvet-themed shoot for Love magazine. (Speaking of things that millennials won’t recognize.)
In addition, Diesel just launched a campaign that puts trans people front and center in their advertising material. Their names are Benjamin Melzer and Loiza Lamers, and they are just about as chic as they come.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Proud to represent who we are and what we do,” Melzer and Lamers wrote at the time. Good for them, good for the companies availing themselves of talented attractive models, and good for all of us who get to appreciate what they can accomplish together.
UO has also put out a video featuring teenagers who think they have life lessons to offer, which is pleasant enough.

I wonder what its anti gay owner thinks. Oh that’s right. Whatever makes him money. He can always donate it to worthy anti gay politicians.

It’s a shame the owner of the company is a homophobe. They won’t be getting any of my money.

Why the snarky references to the Gap, the 90’s, and things that millennials won’t recognize? Other than that, this could have been an informative article.

Right wing retailer and Tranzers – a match made in homophobic heaven.

UO is the leading retailer in stealing artists work without compensation. They run sweatshops. The CEO rivals the ex of AF in his vile xenophobia, including anti LGBT sentiments and practices. UO is trash and anyone who shops there in in collusion.
