COMING ATTRACTIONS

A Marriage Of Convenience In South Korea’s “Two Weddings And A Funeral”

The old storyline of a gay man getting into a fake relationship with a lesbian gets a cross-cultural update in South Korea’s Two Weddings and a Funeral. In the movie, obstetrician Hyo-Jin (Ryoo Hyoun-Kyoung) dreams of adopting a baby with her girlfriend, so she gets arranges for some pseudo-nuptials with Min-Soo (Kim Dong-Yoon), who’d like his folks to think he’s on the straight and narrow.

Two Weddings and a Funeral plays next at the Busan International Film Festival, October 4-13 in Busan, South Korea; and the Hawaii International Film Festival, running October 11-21 in Honolulu.
