WATCH: You’re Welcome For Marriage Equality, Mary Cheney

With the recent wedding of Mary Cheney and her partner, Heather Poe, Current’s John Fugelsang took a moment to point out Republican hypocrisy regarding same-sex marriage—and gave a backhanded “you’re welcome” to the newlyweds and their family on behalf of America’s progressives.“The Cheney family was understandably delighted that Mary could finally legally marry the person she loved, right here in America.” Says Fugelsang, “So on behalf of all the progressives in America, Cheney family, allow me to say, “You’re welcome.”

Somehow we don’t think Fugelsang will be getting a thank-you card from the Cheney-Poes

I wonder if Daddy Darth Vader gave his dear little daughter away.

THANK YOU JOHN FUGELSANG, The Cheney’s have always spit in the faces of Americans that are not them or their friends, why should this be any different. When Mary said her Dad had a change of heart, and is now for same sex marriage, you noticed it wasn’t when he was in office. Isn’t it funny how people can “see the need” to change to suit their needs, but can’t “see the need” for others if it doesn’t involve them. Whatever, Darth and his family can go suck an egg.

Her Dad is a mass murderer. I wish her and Heather only the worst.

It is Mary’s sister (Elizabeth?) the demon-seed daughter that is the true heir to daddy dick’s evil.

The hypocrisy of it aside, if this had been a gay son, we’d have never seen this day.
It’s the mental image of a man’s ass with another man’s dick it, that causes conniptions for these wingnuts.
Women, they don’t give a shit about, straight or gay.

@jack jett: If you are calling him a mass murderer only because of his involvement in the Iraq War then I think you need to call Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton mass murderers to since they both supported this war during their congress years and Barack allowed the war in Afghanistan to continue (and it still continues).

@dvlaries: It has more to do with the fact that they think that men should be superior and can not understand why any man would submit to another man. They really do not visualize anything sexually unless they are repressed homosexuals.

Same thing with Clarence and Ginny Thomas. Conservatives were adamantly against interracial marriage in the late ’60s, but they’re only too happy to take advantage of what the left fought to achieve. They fight us, and if they lose, they’re the first to take advantage of what we fought for.

Much like the GOPologists and Log Cabinettes, Mary Cheney was quite happy to work against any and all gains gays and lesbians made by supporting and voting for those who openly abhor us, but she (and the rest of the moronic right-wing gays) is only too happy to take advantage of the hard work of others.

If her daddy’s boss, her party’s current nominee and most of the politicos she supported had any say, she would never be allowed marriage equality.
