Having split San Francisco and the Perry trial, screenwriter Dustin Lance Black is hitting the snowy slopes of Park City for this year’s Sundance Festival. But while he’s there on official business — he narrates Reed Cowan’s documentary 8: The Mormon Proposition — he’s also taking the opportunity to team up with Equality Utah for some top notch rabble-rousing.

Black will speak at a gay rights rally in Salt Lake on Saturday (6pm!), and it won’t be lost on anyone that he’s invading Mormon territory. Which is a bit of a rite of passage, given Black grew up in a Mormon household, and we all know how much that stuck.
