Gentrified minority organisations always live in a bubble of spin, pragmatism, and compromise. The HRC has crowned itself the premier lobbying effort. For whom, it now seems, is in question.

Gentrified black groups did not obtain the civil rights. It was the activist group led by MLKJR and not the organisation who had compromised for over a century. The achronym still uses the term "coloured people".

Salmonese replaced Cheryl Jacques, onetime MA state senator, who understood that without marriage equality, all other rights were meaningless and toothless. Salmonese is a centrist and a DLC supporter. He plays both sides of the aisle. RINO pols fear both the neocons and the DLC. When push comes to shove, they fold like a cheap suit to the neocons. Witness Specter on the Mukasey nomination. They speak moderately when they are in trouble, but when the votes count, they are AWOL.

Salmonese does not offend the "do no harm but do no good" DLC when it is time to support the real friends of the full community. Again, Barney Frank is a DLC centrist whose views on marriage equality does NOT exist personally or professionally. This man wants a federal civil union law and its change to lesser rights in his MA where he has REFUSED TO MARRY HIS LIFE PARTNER because he favours civil unions.

Nigel used to give a significant amount monthly to the HRC. He now gives nothing, and gives them a piece of his mind when they call to renew him. He gives all his disposable support funds in the USA effort to GLAD and to Marriage Equality.

This guy just sounds like wank wank wank.
