Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

As if he didn’t have enough problems already, a sisterhood of queer witches have banded together to place a hex on Pharma-Bro Martin Shkreli for being a greedy, price-gouging douce bag.

“This is a person who flouts the justice system, and whose affluence shields them from being accountable,” witchcraft enthusiast Howl told the Daily Dot. “And they’re really pugnacious about it, and really jerky about it.”

The hex, which took place in Brooklyn on Ash Wednesday, included a wax effigy of Shkreli, along with a formula of hexing oil and different herbs mixed into a concoction, as well as a cloth doll bound with cords of black fabric, and some chanting.

Howl explained that the hex was not meant to hurt Shkreli, but rather to restore karma in the world.

“When people think of casting hexes, it’s like dark and scary magic, the black arts, and they don’t want to get near that,” she said. “When in reality all we’re trying to do is get justice. The hex is not to bring anyone harm, but to make sure justice is served, and that there is a balance, and that balance is restored.”

Howl says she ultimately hopes the hex “sends a broader message” to the universe.

“Let’s get together and not just heal ourselves and each other through this process, which is a cathartic process, but also let’s enact justice in a way that we can, as spiritual beings who are empowered to change reality,” she said.

Sounds good to us.
