Amy Vokdahaus was recently chosen by us as a girl we are gagging to see on the RuPaul’s Drag Race runway in Season 7.  Amy explains, in her own words, what being cast would mean to her:
I just turned 30 and I feel like I am at the end of a road, and I’ve come to a two-way intersection. I am either going to get cast in RuPaul’s Drag Race and keep doing drag, which is what I love, or I will have to hang up the heels, get a serious job and start working on my career. It would be disappointing to follow the bills, not my dreams, but that is what most people do. Any bitch that tells you she makes a living doing drag is a fucking liar. Drag is a disease, any money you make in drag you end up putting right back into it. Drag, when done right, is an extremely expensive hobby. Ru girls — the intelligent ones — are the only queens who are actually able to make money and live off of it.

“Right now, I am finishing college, and I will be graduating in August, looking at taking on that career. During my spring break, however, I did decide to send an audition tape into Drag Race. I put everything I had into that tape. I knew I had to give a try, since I had gotten so close to being cast before. I showed the producers all the skills I would bring to Drag Race — my sewing, wig making, singing, acting, comedy and lip syncing.

“Ideally I would like to be the Sarah Brightman of drag. She has done everything: pop, classical, rap and acting. She’s pretty, morbid and sexy, all in one, and she is the world’s best selling cross-over artist.”
Amy’s wig-making and sewing skills are good enough for Alaska Thunderfuck, who gets many of her items custom-made by Amy. If Santino dares to read her for filth on the runway, she is sure to remind him of that!
