Sarah Palin’s daughter made the announcement yesterday via her blog. “I’m announcing this news a lot sooner than I ever expected due to the constant trolls who have nothing better to talk about,” she stated at the beginning of her post. After revealing the pregnancy, she assured everyone that “there’s nothing I can’t do with God by my side,” because as we all know, it’s good to invoke strength from the man upstairs when you’ve been caught with egg on your face.
Other pearls of wisdom from her entry include:
“Life moves on no matter what. So no matter how you feel, you get up, get dressed, show up, and never give up.”
“When life gets tough, there is no other option but to get tougher.”
No other option? We’re guessing the option of utilizing birth control was off the table.
One has to appreciate the irony of Bristol Palin’s predicament once you factor in that she is paid a public speaking appearance fee of anywhere between $15,000 to $30,000 to discuss the importance of abstinence.
Palin, who does not want any lectures or sympathy, has never been one to shy away from expressing her opinions on LGBT equality. In a blog post from December 2013 titled “Leave Phil Robertson Alone,” Bristol stated it’s “so hypocritical how the LGBT community expects every single flippen person to agree with their life style” as she defended the Duck Dynasty patriarch.
“I hate how the LGBT community says it’s all about “love” and “equality.” However, if you don’t agree with their lifestyle, they spread the most hate. It is so hypocritical it makes my stomach turn. They need to learn how to respect others’ opinions and not just jump to the conclusion that everyone who doesn’t support homosexuality and gay marriage is homophobic.”
Clearly, Sarah’s daughter did not get the memo that a lack of acceptance for homosexuality and marriage equality are cornerstones of homophobia.
Bristol also tried unsuccessfully to call out Miley Cyrus earlier this month when she questioned the pop singer’s level of tolerance. Cyrus, as all know, is a huge proponent for equality and has also created Happy Hippy Foundation to raise funds and awareness for homeless and LGBT youth.
Although Palin did not disclose the name of the father, Bristol punctuated her pregnancy entry with, “Tripp, this new baby, and I will all be fine, because God is merciful.”
Yes, Bristol. God is merciful, and he loves everyone — even hypocrites who have a distorted view of equality and acceptance.
