The Charlotte City Council just voted to expand the city’s nondiscrimination ordinance to include LGBT people, and their most homophobic citizen Franklin Graham is not happy about it.
We previously reported about Graham’s earlier Facebook rant when the proposed expansion was moving forward toward a vote, when he claimed the nondiscrimination ordinance is being “used to discriminate against Christians.”
Riiiiiiight.
The ordinance bans discrimination against LGBT people by local businesses, but there is a more controversial element to it. From The Charlotte Observer:

The most controversial part of the ordinance would allow transgender residents to use either a men’s or women’s bathroom, depending on the gender with which they identify.
The bathroom provision sparked the most opposition, with opponents mostly worried about the safety of women and girls in a public bathroom with people who were born male. Supporters said those fears were overblown, and that transgender people are at risk of violence in the bathroom.

I’m sure there are already laws that state bathrooms must be used for bathroom purposes only, so anyone going in there to expose themselves or harrass others is breaking the law and could be arrested. This ordinance wouldn’t negate that. But this idea involves reason and that’s something these freaks have no interest in utilizing.

The actions of communists and fascists were not done in the name of atheism, but in the name of specific political ideologies. I actually have never been a fan of her vocal style, just as I have never been a fan of Celine Dione (though both have undeniably great instruments regardless of how they choose to play them, and poor Celine has recently been handed a lot of shit to deal with).I have always liked Streisand as a fellow Jew and for her politics.
