So Gay ASMR is a thing now and guys are making bank offering “sound massages”

Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is often described as a tingling sensation that typically begins on the scalp and works its way down the back of the neck and spine. It’s triggered by certain audio or visual stimulation, like, say, gentle whispering or the soft crinkling of a paper bag. Some describe it as a sort of “sound massage” that makes them feel relaxed, at ease, even hypnotized.

There are literally millions ASMR videos floating around on YouTube. Recently, there’s been an emergence of sub genres of ASMR, including ASMR erotica, sometimes referred to ASMRotica, which is intended to be sexually stimulating, and Gay ASMR, or ASMRLGBTQ (OK, OK, we made that one up!), which are geared towards appealing to the senses of gay men.

Tyson Hamblin, A.K.A. Tyson ASMR, dropped out of college to pursue a career in making ASMR videos. In less than two years, he has accumulated over 30,000 subscribers and produced dozens, if not hundreds, of videos on his channel, many of which offer gay ASMR scenarios, including…

A sleepover with your gay best friend…

Getting ready for a hot date…

And coming out to a supportive friend…

Hamblin has also begun branding himself on Instagram and selling official merch on his website, including hoodies, t-shirts, and tanks, all in the $20-$30 range.

Paul Hagan over at Metro Source recently did a roundup of other popular gay AMSR content creators and, we must say, some of them are pretty darn… creative.

Like this one about by Baked Poptart, A.K.A. AMSR Top Boyfriend, which takes viewers on an auditory journey through an after work cuddle with their significant other…

Or this one by ASMRistocrat which leads listeners through a gay kidnapping fantasy…

Seriously, it’s these people’s jobs to make these videos. Suddenly we’re starting to question our own life choices.
