HGTV recently aired a pilot for a potential new show called Down to the Studs, which would star husbands PJ and Thomas; a couple that refer to themselves, somewhat artlessly though appropriately, as the “Property Lovers.”
In order to ramp up interest in the show, PJ and Thomas have been pleading with their Instagram followers — did we mention the shared Instagram account? — to support the show by using the hashtag #HGTVDowntotheStuds.
“PLEASE SHARE and TAG HGTV*** YALL,” they wrote.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Here’s our news that we’ve been keeping secret for a year and a half! We can finally tell you!!! We have a pilot premiering TOMORROW on HGTV called Down to the Studs! This is a HUGE step for the LGBTQ community! But guys, we need your help!”
So far, there’s been no news about whether or not the series is being picked up, so you’re encouraged to hashtag your little heart out if you happen to like the trailer, which you can watch below:

Oh man, I just vomited a little in my mouth. I hope the whole show isn’t about clients gushing about how hot they are in every episode with cheesy jokes and shirtless scenes. Not that I would mind the shirtless scenes.
Ok, I’ll watch. Fine.

How much did Unilever pay you to run this?

The guys were hoping their show might be on LOGO (the “gay channel”) but there’s no room for it in between re-runs of Mama’s family, Golden Girls, Roseanne, Buffy the Vampire slayer, Bewitched…..

Sometime in the last two years, Logo has joined 99 percent of the rest of basic cable (Turner Classic Movies being one exception) in moving away from their original programming strategy.

How was it? Did it get picked up?

Much the way Food Network no longer has cooking programs but just endless “competition” shows the success of Fixer Upper has turned HGTV into one show after another with a quirky couple helping homeowners remodel. Surprised it took this long for it to be a gay couple.
mhoffman953
Seems like this is a copycat version of that show on TLC with the gay couple who remodel homes. I predict this show to last one season
chris_clb614
You see, if the Benham brothers and or their father hadn’t opened up their big anti-gay mouths, they could be sharing a network with these two.

I stopped watching HGTV long ago, after I got “Property Brothered” to death; likewise for Food Network after everything became a competition.

I watch HGTV and enjoy it, even knowing that House Hunters is totally fake and set-up. I like to see houses. I wish I’d received notice of Down To The Studs pilot because I would have liked to have seen it.

Again with video clips that don’t play..so I’ll skip over to YouTube as usual to watch one. I really hope they take that God awful fire island off ..Kelly ripa”s produced show..bunch of Queens drinking and complaing..one guy says “like” one more time it’s nauseating…
Sluggo2007
Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos is also a producer. I wish he was a housemate.

I MISSED IT SO I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT WAS PICKED UP OR NOT AND I DON’T HAVE INSTANTGRAM.
