Being catfished â i.e. being duped by someone who uses a fake online persona â is typically a frustrating experience. Unless, of course, youâre the lucky Reddit user who said the guy who catfished him âwas even better looking than the fake pics he sent.â

âHappened about two weeks ago,â the Redditor wrote. âIt was really odd. The guy was not the same guy in the photo at all, but he was more muscular and looked like a f*cking model. He looked way better than the photo he sent me. His dick pics even looked fake. [His] was much bigger and the butt [was] bigger and more muscular. I went back and looked at the pics after I left his place. It was so f*cking odd. His apartment was really nice and expensive too.â
âMakes me think he was maybe someone well-known,â the Redditor concluded. âGay life is weird.â
How about we take this to the next level?

Commenters on the post shared their hypotheses about the situation. âProbably a celebrity or just someone who doesnât want his real pics out there,â one wrote. âAlso some VGL [very good-looking] people are sometimes too good looking to actually be successful on apps. They look better than most people so some people feel like they canât live up and other VGL tend to be shallow assholes so I can see some VGL people using less GL pics just to get laid and meet real people who arenât pic collecting, assholes or way out of their league.â
âI can see that,â another wrote. âWhen I see a VGL person I donât even bother. (Never have never will.) The price of beauty.â

Back in my dating site days, I used to use a picture that was accurate, but not super flattering. I always figured it was better to have people be pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed by the real thing.
Chrisk
Ha. So in other words. Beautiful people get away with everything. Lie about yourself or pics. Hey no problem. Come on in. Lol
Black Pegasus
Yup, gay men are superficial. No breaking news there.
Donston
I highly doubt a guy going out with a girl only to discover she’s “prettier” than her picture is going to be mad. It’s less a “gay thing” and more about pretty privilege.
jjose712
And the same with a woman who find the man is more handsome than the pics. I brief explanation about not wanting a superficial woman who wants him only for his looks and she will be totally hooked up.
It’s not the same when you lie and you are actually better than the lie than otherwise

Art and sex are not democratic. Get over it and just worry about paying your rent.

I have a good friend who is blessed with 11 talented inches. If asked, he’ll say 9″ so as not to scare away guys. He says when he tells the truth about 11″, it attracts freaks.
When I was on dating/hook-up apps, I eventually stopped posting my face pic because too many people told me that my profile was fake … and most guys aren’t looking for a pretty face.
howardstern
I do not really understand this tactic. Wouldn’t you rather put out your real size out there so people really know with what you are working with rather then to lie and later whip it out to someone who’s limit is a niner? Let’s be real, not so many people can take that.

Excuse for Golden Girls moment…Dorothy: âMa, I cannot believe you sent in my picture to a total stranger.â Sophia: âI didnât send in your picture. I sent the picture that came with my wallet….Think how mad your dateâs gonna be when he finds out heâs not going out with Janet Gaynor.â

Sophia, the original catfisher!! :-p

It has been my broad experience (and direct observation) that guys who use the self-aggrandizing descriptor of “VGL” …. in reality, rarely are.
LostMyClothesAgain
Guys who describe themselves as VGL are often queeny with plucked eyebrows.
DarkZephyr
@LostMyClothesAgain I don’t stand by your “queeny” comment, and usually the guys who bitch the loudest about so called “queeny” gay men are super fem themselves and just can’t see it.
But I do agree with what your attitude about plucked eyebrows. I HATE that that has become a thing. Its gross looking and makes the men who do it look like they have plastic faces. They often plump up their lips too, like the average gay man wants to date a guy who looks like a cheap Angelina Jolie knock off. I cannot IMAGINE what makes them think that looks good.

Great, he gets a hottie. I go the door and the 90 year old freaking crypt keeper answers who apologizes for sending pics that were “a few years old”. đ

LMAO!!!!

bathroom stall door?

Just a quick note:
if you’re going to send a dick pick, don’t take it looking into a toilet bowl. That’s just nasty.
Oranos
Is there a reason this is a story? Is this not simply a prank, like something an adolescent would do?
CityguyUSA
I find it so intersting that gay men are obsessed with the gym and muscular bodies spending hours a day on the narcissistic pursuits so they can pick up someone for sex if they even get that far. All that time working out translates into a whole 30 seconds and a few butterfly kisses on the torso before they got a dick in their mouth with their eyes closed or head to toe or their ass in the air; only the missionary gets to see who’s there.
Hardly seems a good return on the investment especially when you don’t make the search results cause you are aged out regardless of your body. I’m so glad the guy was pleasantly surprised that they guy reversed catfished him. I guess the reverse catfisher wasn’t as ecstatic since he didn’t bother writing an article.
MISTERJETT
some people just don’t want their picture out there. once it is out there, it’s there forever.
