GoFundMe just deleted the campaign of Israel Folau because the crowdfunding website doesn’t like helping homophobic jerks raise money on their platform. Imagine that.
Is GoFundMe single? Because we wanna marry it.
The former Australian rugby player had reportedly raised $485,234.99 of his $3 million campaign before it was shut down. He had launched the campaign to help pay for his lawsuit against Rugby Australia after the sports authority fired him for making homophobic posts on social media.
After it terminated his four-year $5 million contract with the New South Wales Waratahs team, Folau published a video (below) in which he explained why he needed strangers to give him $3 million to sue his former bosses despite his already being a millionaire.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
He said:
“My fight with Rugby Australia to defend my right to practice my religion has so far cost my wife Maria and me over $100,000 in legal fees. Rugby Australia has an army of lawyers at their disposal and they have already said they will divert significant resources to fight me in court. The cost to me and my family of continuing my legal action against Rugby Australia is expected to be significant. To help me, I’ve engaged a top-flight legal team including one of Australia’s leading workplace relations barristers.”
Notably, his video didn’t mention that “practicing his religion” involved him opposing gay civil rights and telling gays they’re going to Hell.
Here’s Folau’s money beg video:
As we predicted though, Folau’s chance of actually raising any money through GoFundMe was always unlikely seeing as the website’s policies explicitly state that users can’t raise funds “for the legal defense of … intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender or gender identity, or serious disabilities or diseases.”
And, as Australian Business Review reported, Folau didn’t really need the money anyway as the 30-year-old Mormon-raised hater already owns a $500,000 Lamborghini and a $5.6 million property portfolio which includes seven different properties and a five bedroom, five-acre property.

If Folau is really worried about his finances, perhaps he can sell some of those riches to fight for his right to be a jerk.
Folau’s little hate crusade has cost him relationships with “Qantas Airlines (which criticized Folau’s remarks), Land Rover (which took back a luxury vehicle it had provided for the athlete’s use), and Asics (which chucked Folau as a brand ambassador),” according to the Edge Media Network.
Perhaps he can make money as a hate pastor seeing as he told a congregation that trans youth are the work of the Devil not too long ago.

Good For GoFundMe.
I love these religious bigots that think it’s somehow their job to run around and publicly attack others, then play victim because not everybody agrees with their bigotry and hate.
This guy also got a warning from Rugby Australia the first two times he put all of this bigoted crap out there. They warned he could lose his contract and he did it anyway. So this isn’t personal, it’s a crusade for him and he was warned. The guy doesn’t have a case and was just trying to pocket extra money.

I still can’t get over the number of imbeciles that donated money to this multi-millionaire. It really was about hate and greed. Nothing else.
Shows you what complete bullshit this “religious freedom” term really is. No one stopped the shit head from spouting off his hate and bigotry. These Christians bigots seem to feel that freedom only applies to them though.

I wish I can be as surprised as you. Sadly, history had shown us that these moronic supporters exist in droves. Look at how much money televangelists rake in, despite their megamansions and private jets. The saddest paradox is that the money often come from people who can least afford it: older, gullible, under-educated people on a limited income. A prime example is televangelist Peter Poppoff. Apparently, all that info he was supposedly getting from God was actually from aides who had advanced knowledge of those he was “healing.” The info was then fed to him via a hidden earpiece. Despite being exposed as a fraud, his supporters continued giving.
So yeah, when religion is involved, stupid people will give, regardless of the person’s wealth.

Bryguyf69 I still can not understand how televangelist Peter Poppoff is still on the air pushing His Healing Water in those little plastic tubes ( Saline Solution ) You can get them at any Walgreen’s or CVS He has been arrested for being a Fraud but he is still on the TV with his bullshit.

That’s the problem with these religious exemption laws. I asked a Jesus/bible believer if I was Muslim, could I refuse to back a cake for a woman unescorted by a man or without covering her face? This bill was made for anti-gay folks, primarily. You can make any discrimination in the name of your own religion, practiced by one. I hate you because of MY own religion. So now what? I hate mean people. They are quickly becoming the minority. Although, thanks to fat pig, gays are back on top as hated. Well, blacks and Muslims and women and immigrants, too. Mike Pence is fake as hell.
