Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Commerce, Georgia on Saturday and among those to speak was local Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Among the various dog whistles Greene blew to the MAGA diehards, Greene again criticized trans swimmer Lia Thomas.
She misgendered the trans woman swimmer, saying ”he” needs to go back to the men’s team “because we’re going to kick the biological men out of the women’s sports.”
She also took aim at out-gay Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
“And you know what, Pete Buttigieg can take his electric vehicles and bicycles, and he and his husband can stay out of our girls’ bathrooms!”
Unvarnished homophobia and it gets big cheers from Trump fans at his rally in Georgia https://t.co/lT6uXUJq3X

Among those to raise an eyebrow at the remarks was former The View co-host Meghan McCain, who said, “Just keep in mind Trump supporters and GOP leadership have more of a problem with @Liz_Cheney than this freak.”

Many were similarly unimpressed.
I’m a woman, and honestly, I’d rather Pete Buttigieg in the bathroom with me than Marjorie Taylor Greene. https://t.co/jmIiFIq4hx

Marjorie Taylor Greene wants Pete Buttigieg to stay out of women’s bathrooms. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a bigoted ignorant fuck.#TrumpRally

Pete Buttigieg can use any bathroom he wants.
Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene isn’t even housebroken.

Pete Buttigieg is a hero, Marjorie Taylor Greene is a ZERO.

The Republican Party is using Marjorie Taylor Greene as a walking messaging test. They’re trying to figure out how to undermine Sec. Pete Buttigieg. If it’s effective to their base, it’s worth it. If it backfires, they can just say that MTG is unhinged and doesn’t speak for them. https://t.co/Huwpllg7af

Trump’s Georgia rally failed to draw a big crowd, according to several reporters at the event.
Trump himself claimed tens of thousands showed up.
“We had a massive crowd last night in Georgia, but as usual, the Fake News Media absolutely refuses to show it,” he said via a statement on Sunday.
“People are estimating 25,000 to 35,000 people, but our record so far is Texas with 87,000 people with 50,000 being turned away. This is fun!”
However, photographic evidence for this claim has been hard to come by. Reporters at the event said it was more like 5,000.
Yeah, don’t believe the line that there were 25,000-35,000 people at the Trump rally last night. The crowd was far smaller and far quieter than other rallies in Georgia — and elsewhere — I’ve covered. Also, I just noticed an attendee in this shot indicating the media is #1. https://t.co/MorrMo2bMF

Trump is dispatching his spokesperson to desperately deny any report that last night’s Georgia rally had tons of empty seats.

It’s almost time for Trump to speak here in Georgia and there’s probably no more than 5,000 people here, the smallest Trump rally I’ve ever covered here. Way less than the Perry rally in 2021 (closer to 10k) and nowhere close to 2020’s 20-30k+ #gapol pic.twitter.com/lokIiFONFC
