It’s safe to say Lindsay Peace adores her three kids — she had her tattoo artist husband Steve render them permanently on her body, after all.
But while sons Hamish and Elliot’s ink portraits have stood the test of time, Ace’s wound up being problematic.
That’s because Ace, now 15, doesn’t match the pink frilly dress and purple bow adorned on Lindsay’s skin. In fact, Ace identifies as transgender, making the tattoo a wholly inaccurate representation of the son Lindsay and Steve have raised.
Sensitive to the disparity, Lindsay first thought of removing it altogether, but Steve had a better idea.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
He tattooed directly over the original, swapping out the dress and bow for shorts, a T-shirt and a slingshot:
They kept the transformation a secret, and surprised Ace with the result.
“He loved it. Every step we have in this journey of ours he just gets happier and happier,” Lindsay told HuffPo.
They decided to share the photo on the Facebook page of Immaculate Concept Tattoo, where Steve works. The response they received was overwhelmingly positive.
“I guess there are people out there that have negative opinions,” Steve said, “but thankfully they’re keeping it to themselves.”
He added: “You have to support your kids. I mean, it’s tough when you hear that as a parent, but you have to be strong for your kids. You have to come to terms with it yourself, on your own time, and just have to offer 100 per cent support.”

For a sec I thought the son became a daughter and was, like, how’d the tattooist change the from dark to light on the clothes?! Still, while the crossed leg’s a little odd-looking, the results of changing the coloring and artwork is admirable and mom’s heart’s in the right place. So, overall a nice story.

@Vincent Milligan: @David Bartlett: Why Oh Why do you people even exist!? Just because you need an outlet to post your frustrations in life? Not everyone agrees with your point of view so… why don’t you post something + instead of – all the time? I’ve learned that when people rage against others, it is a means of “trying” to make “themselves” feel better. How long does that feeling last for you? Until you head out onto the next neg. post? NO one cares what you think (nor even if you try to do so). You are just neg. ppl and one day maybe you will grow up and join the REAL world in communicating/conversing as an ADULT. I do not post this to make ME feel better, I am just calling you both out with the FACTS. Liven up and live for Chr1$ts’ sake! This article is uplifting to most in these days and set time. Climb on board and progress some contribution to LIFE.

@Glücklich: Thanks for being a nice adult and making the world a better place instead of being a TROLL. Your post is a breath of fresh air. Thanks for having empathy!
Bo Hamrk
@Vincent Milligan: YOU must since you took time to post your “thoughts”…
Bo Hamrk
@Vincent Milligan: I think I may have stated this b4 but, your “NO H8” profile pic does NOT reflect your postings…All I see is discrepancy in the two with aberrations. IMO

Can’t wait to see the posts this kid makes years from now on the raised-by-narcissists subreddit.
