When the queen calls...

Monet X Change fired from gig after accepting job from Madonna but somehow we don’t think she cares

This just in: Monet X Change has been dumped from the Haters Roast Tour after skipping out on a Denver show.

The show’s producers wrote a super dramatic Instagram post publicly firing the winner of Season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars after she accepted a job offer from none other than… Madonna.

Yes, that Madonna.

The post read:

BREAKING NEWS from #hatersroast Yesterday @monetxchange arrived in Denver to appear on our show. Sometime during the afternoon, we’re told she received a phone call from @madonna with an offer to be in an upcoming music video. Monet asked MP if it would be ok to leave the tour to accept the offer. We said no because it was too short notice to replace her on Haters. Just hours before the show was to start and without telling anyone including the other queens on the Denver show, Monet left the venue and flew to LA to accept Madonna’s offer. Therefore, we have decided that Monet will no longer be on any upcoming Haters Roast dates.

When fans and followers came to Monet’s defense (after all, it’s f-ing Madonna!), comments were turned off on the post, prompting Monet to issue a statement on Twitter:

Meanwhile, Season 4 All Stars runner-up Phi Phi O’Hara said she was also approached by Madonna but had to turn down the offer because of schedule conflicts.

(Apparently, Madonna gave the queens less than 48 hours notice when she asked if they could appear in the video.)

O’Hara did mention, however, that “a bunch of queens” will appear in the video.

Madonna has been at hard at work on her 14th studio album for several months now, which she has kept very secretive, aside from teasing social media with the hashtag #magic.

No official word yet on when the album might be released, but rumor has it it’ll be sometime next month.

The video’s director, Luke Austin, recently posted to Instagram to say: “I damn well cried. The song is great. The video is political. The video will be controversial. She was brilliant. I love you @Madonna. My heart is still going a million miles an hour. We need to wake up!”
