One Million Moms, a group that as of this writing has exactly 69,677 likes on Facebook (which, in case you’re not good at math, is exactly 930,323 likes short of a million), is once again trying to save the world from … well, everything.
In an email to Joe.My.God’s Joe Jervis, OMM encourages readers to harass department store chain Kohl’s into withdrawing its advertising support from ABC’s hit (or “creepy,” as OMM calls it) show How to Get Away with Murder because it contains “a whole slew of sins” in the guise of entertainment. The missive then goes on to list the atrocities, some of which are evidently too heinous to spell out in full. They include:
- assault and murder (“on several occasions”)
- graphic heteros-xual and homos-xual s-x scenes on a p-rn-graphic level
- foul language
- mockery of Jesus Christ and Christians
- s-x with a minor (which, in case you’re not in the know, is also known as statutory r-pe)
- adultery and marital affairs (which evidently are different)
- casual s-x [depicted] as acceptable, even when with multiple partners or encounters in public places
- a rotting corpse
- dead bodies
- other gore
OMM, who in the past has spoken out against the Disney Channel for having the audacity to show a lesbian couple, Glee for allowing a trans character to portray the Holy Virgin Mary in a nativity scene and sing a Supremes classic about having a baby out of wedlock, Kmart for producing a TV commercial that features hot men in boxers “thrusting in a sexualized way to the tune of Jingle Bells”, and the Norelco shaving company for promoting manscaping, concluded the email asking its followers to badger Kohl’s into ceasing its HTGAWM ad campaign.
We’ve decided to follow One M-ll-on M-ms’ lead. Not in harassing department stores but in omitting random vowels from things we deem offensive.
Trippy
I follow JoeMyGod’s blog, and when I see these OMM posts (often hilarious) I tend to rush out and shop at the targeted stores for no other reason than because OMM tells us we shouldn’t. I tend to do the same for the TV shows they want boycotted.
In the case of Murder, I was watching it anyway… for exactly the reasons that OMM listed!

One Million Moms is like the Million Man March. They clearly do not have a million people.

I make it a point to support anything that the One Million Moms (all 48 of them) are against. Regardless of how bad it is. I will record and watch it.

The One Million Moms boycott of JC Penney and spokeswoman Ellen DeGeneres fizzled after the “million” reached only about 40,000. Compare that with about three million people who were watching Ellen’s television talk show every weekday.
They mustered even fewer signatures in the “Dump Starbucks” campaign after the Seattle-based coffee chain supported gay marriage in Washington state. Even after the group ran online ads in some of the most anti-gay countries on the planet — Egypt, China, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait — just over 45,000 signatures were gathered. In the meantime, an online “Thank You Starbucks” campaign to counter the moms delivered more than 550,000 signatures.
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
<i<If you need a good gigglefest take a cyberstroll over to the site of this band of nasty very obvious sexually frustrated crunts……….
They take “credit” for having shows that have been cancelled by their networks for abysmal ratings off the TVs because of “their pressure”……In many instances stores they have called for boycotts actually show increases in sales….
And as to the “Million Mom” moniker as Ellen DeGeneres so aptly put it “they like to round up, by like 960,000” :p

These “One Million Moms” (excuse, me but I can’t stop laughing), need to back off and let their children grow up naturally. The world is what it is and all their hysterical shrieking isn’t going to change anything.

I don’t see them fighting to get Law and Order off the air. That show has pedophiles, rapists, murderers, etc. you name the crime and it’s probably been done.

I’m guessing that the the “40 or moms” attack on “How To Get Away With Murder” is a direct result of their success in getting ABC to cancel “Modern Family” four years ago. What? “Modern Family” is still on the air and continues to be ABC’s highest rated sir-com? Well, at least the “moms” we’re successful in shutting down Starbucks. Weren’t they? These ladies truly need to find a cause where they might have some credible success, or kind a hobby.
