PHOTOS: 25 of the hottest & most gag-worthy looks from New York Fashion Week

Male models at NYFW

It may be chilly AF in the Big Apple, but the looks were on fire at New York Fashion Week.

With Beyoncé putting her stamp of approval by making a surprise appearance at the Luar show in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NYFW was definitely the place to be for the last seven days.

While brands like Thom Browne and Helmut Lang may be household names, Art Hearts Fashion – founded by queer designer Erik Rosete – highlighted a slew of rising collections with cutting-edge designs on the forefront of what’s next in fashion.

The entire sartorial spectacle included gorgeous shows from up-and-coming brands such as, Love For Upcycling, Mister Triple XSelenee, and Soid Studios, among others, that showcased male models in daring and body-baring fits that weren’t for the shy or faint of heart.

From shirtless suits to crop tops and more leather than in all of Lenny Kravitz’s closets, the ensembles did not disappoint.

So step away from ASOS and Zara (just for now) and get some MAYJAH fashion inspo by clicking through some of the most gag-worthy lewks looks from New York Fashion Week…

It is nice to see a runway show using models who look healthy and attractive for a change (except for the guy with the grotesque jawline implants, and the handsome fellow who has destroyed his face with tattoos and piercings. That group shot made it look like even the female models were healthy looking.

But the garments! Only “gagworthy” if you mean in the traditional sense of the word gag. There was little there that was either functional or flattering, and almost nothing that looked well crafted or like would last through even one day of wear. Amusing draped on a good body, those things would look like the outward manifestation of mental illness on an average person (like those folks that make you cross the street when you see them approaching in the distance).

Diana Vreeland would be over the top with this show. It’s certainly daring..and as she once said ”the eye must travel”! Sad she is not here to offer up.

Iris Apfel (102) is still with us and always finds a way to see the fabulous in every collection. Hey, it’s different, but it’s suppose to be.

See the documentaries on both of these women’s lives. Incredible NYC stories and beyond.

Be happy that Jonny is using looks instead of lewks. Great show.

    • abfab

Sorry. ”The Eye Has To Travel”

    • dbmcvey

      “jawline implants”

Are you talking about the mask?

  • nm4047

with the (possible) exception of the suit towards the end, none of these waste of resources will ever be seen on the street. If they do, some red neck will be chasing down the street waiving their gun(s) at them

    • Bengali

yes. obvious where your loyalties lie.

  • myklwykl

I’m thinking how that would be on me. He can keep the jacket on if he likes.

  • Rikki Roze

personal taste I guess but mostly from silly to down right ugly.

  • Baron Wiseman

Did they have any mens clothes at this show?

    • SoPluckyWhat

      Feeling left out, again?

    • dbmcvey

      Kids these days!

      Eh, Barren!

    • Kangol2

Baronin’s screaming “Get off my lawn” again!

  • Rambeaux

Most of the stuff from “Mister Triple X” is intriguing.

  • FreddieW

I guess male fashion designers aren’t interested in making money. Looks like whatever they do make is spent on LSD.

    • abfab

      Don’t ever take ACID Freddie.

    • FreddieW

There are long-term advantages to having been raised Baptist. There are a number of things I’ve never experienced, and that’s one.

  • SoPluckyWhat

My question is….why don’t models ever smile?

    • Kangol2

Because they’re paid not to. The focus should be on the clothing, with the models’ beauty as an added backdrop and foundation for them.

  • DamianAtamian

Hmm well clearly these are more club wear or fetish pieces. Not wearing this stuff anywhere else.

    • abfab

DO NOT EVER GO TO MILANO. It might kill you.

  • james7

Hard to beat a man in Levis, a plain white tee shirt, and some worn out boots. mostly what’s on display at this show just looks
    silly.

    • abfab

      Then let me beat him.

  • bachy

Please do an article on men’s fashion designer Walter Van Beirendonck.

    • abfab

Q should. He’s one big edgy bear. We LIKEY! Thanks, bachy. Belgium has always been happnin.

    • Kangol2

He’s been in the game for decades now. And is openly gay. And creates some wild clothing. He’ll probably have to be TikTokked or TwitterXed before Queerty catches on.

  • Matthewmatthew

I always find these forward fashion designs noted above at Walmart.
