When Florida’s ban on marriage went out of fashion this week, handsome snowbirds and longtime grooms-to-be came out of the woodwork. Adorable couples like David Currie and Aaron Woodard (above) proudly stood as husband and husband at city halls and makeshift altars from Pensacola to Key West. Visit Florida sent photographers to several favorite destinations to capture images of lovers across the state as they headed to the chapel. Photographers like Willie J. Allen, Jr., Bill Serne, Joseph J. Garnett Jr., Colin Hackley, and Peter W. Cross went near and far to capture the local excitement after Florida officially became the 36th State to legalize marriage. The pictures are still rolling in, but here are some of their favorites. Congratulations to all the newlyweds!

Congratulations to Floridian LGBTs! We are so happy that Florida has joined Massachusetts in Marriage Equality!

Very cute, especially the middle aged overweight couple. We all can find happiness.

Too bad this isn’t happening in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Michigan thanks to the 6th circuit court of appeals.

Amazing!

@Chris: Yeah, what’s that about? My friend got married to his now husband in almost identical matching shirts.

OMG!!!!
All those Gay couples just got married and:
All the vegetation in Florida was not devoured by plauges of locusts!
Residents of Florida have not been reported having to dodge lighting bolts as they run for their cars!
All the teen boys in the state are not signing and hooking up en massse on Grindr!
Pretty much except for the glorious displays of love and affection it affects no one but said couples!
Right wingnut hate filled smcubags: SUCK IT!!
PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS
PS: Ya just gotta love the first pic of the cop getting hitched and kissing his husband!!
You know hundreds of hate filled heads are exploding as I type :p

@polarisfashion: Yes, it IS too bad that those states have governments too blind in their idiotic hatred to recognize the inevitable, and it’s definitely too bad for the many couples living in those states who are waiting to join the rest of civilized America. On a brighter not however, is that there are pending suits waiting to be taken up by SCOTUS (Ohio comes to mind), and maybe the successful conclusion of those cases will make the bitter sweet victories all the sweeter!

@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS:
Super cute, love a man in uniform.

@hex0: You and me both Hex0, you and me both! I know we’re not alone — why is it that so many of us guys (and women too for that matter) just LOVE a man in uniform?
Although I think my favorite photo was the cute white couple holding who I presume is their cute young black son (apparently doubling as their ring bearer) who is ADORABLE — now he steels the show!
SO happy for all these couples, and the countless others who now live in in 3/4+ of the United States where they may now wed legally. I think the remaining states are just a matter of time, because they really are just falling like dominoes.

These pics are just beautiful, I can only imagine the joy and butterflies. Kudos and Congratulations to all the happy couples. <3
