It started innocently enough.
A pregnant mother named McKenna sought the services of a local Alabama photographer to take some maternity photos.
She found one she assumedly clicked with — 21-year-old Faith Grace.
Everything was going swimmingly until the woman took a deep dive into Faith’s Instagram ahead of their shoot to check out more of her work.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
That’s when McKenna saw it, staring threateningly back at her from the insidious depths of social media, the bright colors searing stripes into her retinas. That’s right — it was a photo of a rainbow flag.
The next day, Faith received a text message from McKenna:
If you’re saying to yourself “This can’t be going anywhere good,” you’d be 100% right.
Here’s how Faith responded:
Straightforward.
McKenna fired back with this:
Bonus points for the backhanded apology — “I’m sorry that you think this lifestyle is OK.” Oh lord.
For reference, here are some of the family photos Faith has in her portfolio.
Pretty subversive stuff.
The screenshot Faith shared on Twitter has been retweeted over 38K times. We hope the media attention leads to a boatload of job offers for this talented young photographer, and that McKenna’s 5-year-old soon gets the opportunity to learn that the world is full of different sorts of people.

I’d rather phitograph pregnant cows.
Bob
That wasn’t what he was doing?? Oh, sorry, never met a homophobic cow.. Guess they’re better off..
Mandrake
It was in Alabama. Anybody surprised? Go, Doug Jones, tomorrow!
irbaboon
the South is a horrible place for LGBT people
am_psi
Her photography is pretty pedestrian, but she’ll have that sweet victim money rolling in, so good for her.
Danny595
What victim money? Btw, nice earring. It goes well with your dress.

You are so right, we should just pretend that all discrimination doesn’t exist and then it won’t. Great idea. Ignoring things is what gets people who think we are not human to tolerate us! F’ that…call these a@@holes out.
DarkZephyr
Are you p*ssed at the girl who was turned away for being gay, am_psi? If so, why?
DCguy
Oh look, one of Mo Bros screenames trying to ONCE AGAIN attack the victim of bigotry.
Hey Queerty, how many examples of these screenames making it obvious they are anti-lgbt and only here to defend bigots do we need before they are dumped as trolls?
Xzamilloh
The “victim money” comment aside, he’s not wrong about the photos not being that good.
Crystix
Am I the only one who read she’s 21? I get that we ALL have cameras and pretend to be photographers, but it takes years of “pedestrian” photoshoots before superior quality work is achieved. I’m assuming this lady didn’t want to hire a professional, but that doesn’t give her an excuse to be a bigoted c**t. I’d love to see your art, AM_PSI. Lets see how pedestrian your skill set is.
Amalgamate
Shes 21, you douchebag. Nice earring-very 1993

My question is, how would this woman’s five year old know that this photographer was gay? Would the mom tell her kid, or… how exactly would that transpire?
JamJewel
I was thinking the same thing! Osmosis! The gay scourge! ROTFL
Bob
She might get some ‘gay juice’ on the poor child and turn her. Then the child might notice her shit family and run for the hills.
Rex Huskey
a simple “thank you but I’ve decided to go another way” would have been sufficient. Move on. No need to set the house on fire…..it will not help. If she is skilled she will succeed despite having to deal with idiots who are against or hate her OR those who want to use any occasion to further drive division.
Daniel-Reader
So the mom already suspects her 5 year old is gay and is going to torture the kid for being who they are? Sad.
gjg64
I wish the photographer would publish the full name of “Faith”.
Sam6969
Actually, she did it on her website mentioned in the article 😉
radiooutmike
You know, under the gay photographer’s watchful eye, that baby will be gay.
Sam6969
It hurts when someone rejects your work, because of WHO you are.
Mmmrrrggglll
Wow. Just wow.
The implication, it seems to me, is the customer believes the biblical punishment for committing homosexual acts is death, so she feels compelled to not support Faith in making a living. At the very least.
Makes the whole sign-off, “Take care, Faith.”, sound a little ominous.
Bob
I wonder how long it will be until there is enough support for gays to have those evil passages taken out of an otherwise great book. Has happened before.. The Bible used to be for slavery and beating your wife.
