We’ve all seen Raja and Raven Toot and Boot on “RuPaul’s Drag Race Fashion Photo RuView.” That is where they sit in judgement of their fellow queens and declare a look a Toot (which is good) or a Boot (which means “Really gurl? You left the house like that?”).
It is time to judge one of the judges – Raven! Raven is fierce, beautiful and, yes, a little scary. If she can dish it out, however, then I’m sure can take it. I took a look at a few of Raven’s looks and found a lot of Toots but also a few Boots. At the end of the article you can vote to Toot or Boot one of Raven’s most popular looks.
By the way, I have always felt the name of this show is way too hard to remember and now I find out, by watching the “The Lost Footage” episode that Raven wanted to call it simply “Toot It or Boot It,” which is exactly how I refer to the show! World of Wonder listen to Raven!

GARRETT MATTHEW EXCLUSIVE PHOTO FOR DRAGAHOLIC – TOOT!
This is a photo that was shot exclusively for Dragaholic by Garrett Matthew. This is pure Raven but beyond. The best models have the ability to embody another self. The photo is not necessarily reflective of Raven herself but another Raven, an alien Raven. This is an alien who comes down off her space ship and make you want to board it and fly away to another planet with her. She is beautiful and alluring and just aloof enough that you would follow her with a nod of her head and a lick of her shiny lips! Super TOOT!!!
TWO GREAT LOOKS FROM A RECENT GIG – DOUBLE TOOT!
This is a collage of two looks Raven wore at a recent college appearance in Baltimore. We put the photo up on our Instagram and it immediately became one of our most “Liked” photos of all time. From the Santa Barbara Native American realness on the left to the drippy ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles on the right, both looks absolutely slay! Double TOOT!
SICKENING AND SLIMMING – DEFINITE TOOT!
Oh my gawd! The hat, the hair, the red, the tiny, tiny waist! This look is everything! Again, Raven is a model who can say a lot with the smalles amount of expression on her face. You don’t just look at this sickening outfit though. You look at her eyes and wonder ‘What she is thinking?’ TOOT!
RETRO HAIR & PANTY LINES – BOOT
A cropped version of this was a big hit on our Dragaholic Instagram. When seeing the entire look, however, I am not overwhelmed. The waist is flawless. The bolero jacket and jewelry are very cute. The panty lines, however, are not cute and the hair just reminds me of Deborah Harry’s exploding hair in the movie “Hairspray” (original version from 1988). Sorry, Raven, but I am giving this outfit a BOOT.
PUCCI DRESS AND BIANCA WHO? – TOOT
This Pucci-inspired (or perhaps original?) dress is beyond adorable. It is super short but still somehow not too short. The cropped hair that would fail on so many queens works impeccably on Raven. I think she could have left the bracelets and even the necklace at home because the dress is just everything on its own. Most importantly, all eyes are on Raven in this photo – even Bianca Del Rio’s! TOOT!
WHERE IS RAVEN? – BOOT
There is only one thing wrong with this picture – the weird umbrella hat thing hides one third of her head. Raven’s face looks absolutely beautiful here – what we can see of it. Why mask any part of Raven? Give us all of her! Also, where are her tattoos? Sorry Raven, what we can see of you is amazing. But the umbrella makes it “BOOTISH.”
FROZEN AND FLAWLESS – TOOT
Again Raven proves what an impeccable model she is. This is not “model standing still.” This is “woman frozen in time” like a cyborg that has suddenly had its power supply switched off. Nothing is moving but the smoke from the cigarette. All she is wearing is a hat and gloves and that is all she needs for a striking and most memorable look. Love it! TOOT!
EMOTIONAL AND ETHERIAL – TOOT
This is probably my favorite picture of Raven. It’s a little “sad clown” but not in a campy clownish way. She is again beautiful and uniquely so. Raven always brings a new look to a photo shoot. She doesn’t just change clothes, she changes her being. This picture makes me sad when I look at it and I love that it can evoke emotion from me. Who wants to look at a photo and feel nothing? Absolutely adore! TOOT!!!
WITH ALYSSA EDWARDS – AUTOMATIC TOOT
Raven out of drag. That little flash of belly is flat and enticing. Haircut is fresh and arm is around Alyssa Edwards’ leg. Need I say more? TOOT!
NOT HER BEST LOOK – BOOT
I don’t know if this was for a special effects shoot or what but I will just say – I’ve seen her look better! BOOT!
CUTE COUPLE ALERT! – DOUBLE TOOT!
This is Raven with her boyfriend Martin and they look perfect together. Hot gurl, cute guy, lots of love. Of course it’s a TOOT!

NOT MY STYLE – BOOT
I personally do not love this look on Raven. I think the makeup is perfection. The rest of the look, for me, just distracts from what is a beautifully painted face. Especially the earrings and headband. This photo, however, was hugely popular on social media and has over 5,700 “Likes” on Raven’s Facebook page alone. Also I’m pretty sure she likes it herself since she used it as her Facebook profile picture at one point. So I realize I might be in the minority on this one. What do you think of this look? It’s an amazingly fun show but the name is so confusing even Raja and Raven can’t get it right!

I would actually toot the Retro hair and panty lines, but I would boot the eternal and etherial one myself.
And with the Pucci dress the reason Bianca is giving that look is because she cannot believe that Raven is wearing that wig, and I agree. Bianca always throws shade where it is needed, she does it in pictures even with fans that are acing a mess. Raven is my ultimate favorite Drag Race queen but even I can’t believe she wore that wig, it’s not flattering at all.

I would like to see a similar breakdown of Raja’s looks. I loved Raja on Drag Race but the things she wears for the Toot or Boot YouTube videos are shockers. There is always at least one wrong element (usually the wig) if not the entire look.
