In February of last year, an entertainment power couple was unveiled: Streaming giant Netflix signed on queer TV mogul Ryan Murphy to helm two brand new series.
Now in an Instagram post, Murphy has revealed details — including a stacked cast — about his first foray into binge-worthy streaming content.
The series, titled Ratched, is based off the twisted Nurse Mildred Ratched character from the 1962 novel One Flew Over The Cukoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey.

How about we take this to the next level?

Louise Fletcher brought the role to life in the 1975 film adaptation, earning her both the Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Actress.
For Murphy’s Netflix series, longtime collaborator Sarah Paulson will take on the titular role.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the show’s cast.

Taking to Instagram, Murphy announced:
“RATCHED” on Netflix starts shooting in a couple weeks. On behalf of myself and Ms. Sarah Catharine Paulson who plays the title role and is also a big fancy producer on it, we are thrilled to announce our amazing cast…a true murderers’ row of talent. So many of these actors are supremely talented folks who Sarah and I have both longed to work with. The Ratched Principal Players, in alphabetical order: JON JON BRIONES, CHARLIE CARVER, JUDY DAVIS, HARRIET HARRIS, CYNTHIA NIXON, HUNTER PARRISH, AMANDA PLUMMER, COREY STOLL, SHARON STONE AND FINN WITTROCK. More to come, but come on…Sarah, Cynthia, Judy, Amanda and Sharon, all doing scenes together? I cannot WAIT.
We can’t wait either.

Agreed about getting rid of the spammers. I’m getting better at not seeing them, just like the click bait “you may like” links below.

I, for one, can’t wait. In addition to the movie, I read the original book and saw two different productions of the play. I am hoping this will be the story as seen through Ratched’s eyes.

You had me at Sarah Paulson.
