A photography teacher at a school in Helsingborg, Sweden has learned the hard way why you shouldn’t hurl antigay slurs at students.
The teacher, whose name has not been released, was asked to take photos of the new classes earlier this month. While setting up a shot, he allegedly shouted at one of the students, “Fag number one! Stand over here!”
The photo shoot was abruptly stopped, and the school’s principal was summoned. Meanwhile, the upset student went off to phone his parents.
“When I found out what the photographer said, I felt that this required immediate action,” the principal told media. “He did not respect our values and offended a student. As an adult, you must think about what you say to students.”
How about we take this to the next level?

The teacher was escorted out of the school and asked to return later that afternoon once the students had gone home for the day. Upon returning, both the principal and the photography company’s CEO were waiting for him.
“He apologized to me but it did not help,” the CEO said. “I decided he must be let go immediately… We can only apologize to the student involved. The matter is now settled.”

This event, and various past events, should serve as a warning to the right wing conservative extremists that there WILL BE NO bullying or anti-gay statements allowed in the education field or any other field of endeavor for that matter! If you feel so tempted, you would do better in the field of embalming where you do not have contact with living humans. Sooner or later, these dolts WILL learn!

Nice work by the principal and the CEO of the company for dealing with that so quickly and well. In many cases here in the US there would be all kinds of media releases saying ‘we’re looking into it’ blah blah blah. And then little or no action taken.

To add insult to injury, the other kids will probably now blame the one kid for getting the teacher fired.

I suspect it was an outside photography company not an actual teacher… what school has a CEO that comes to a principal’s meeting?
Marc
@Merv: Actually this s
hould be a lesson to the students as well as others.
Marc
@petensfo: story says it was the photography company’s CEO.

Meanwhile the “all new Vatican” sent him a letter of condolence and a job offering.

@Dakotahgeo: I am not sure what you smoking… or maybe it is different in your neck of the woods, but this behavior is tolerated in the vast majority of secular schools throughout most states in this country. Not to mention Catholic and other Christian schools where the principal would have given the dude a high five.
Dakotahgeo
I smoke or drink nothing! I don’t need false supports for my life. It may be tolerated where YOU live, but normal, intelligent people don’t buy it. Bullied students are making quite a financial killing in Court cases and it will only get worse. Times are changing, people are wising up, and it IS getting better. Your retrograde utopia is crumbling.

not sure Dakotahgeo is getting fire up at here, I only see positive comments so far. I am a little confused on the story though, the guy was a teacher or worked for the photography company? sounds like Queerty may want to do a little more work on this.
either way, its positive action, kids copy adults, so it was important a firm message was sent here.
