Torrance Cheeves Miss Whoochie San Antonio drag queen

Police arrested a man on Monday night in connection with the stabbing death of 51-year-old Torrance Cheeves, a popular San Antonio drag performer.

Cheeves, who performed under the stage name Miss Whoochie, was stabbed to death in August. His body was discovered face-down inside of his home, the back door was open and the house was in disarray. Shortly after his death, the county medical examiner released information stating that Cheeves’ death was caused by a stab wound to the neck.

Police said that three individuals entered Cheeves’ home on the night of August 26 around 8:30 p.m., stabbed him to death, then left and returned later to steal the victim’s property.

San Antonio police took 20-year-old Johnathan Terrell Henderson-Houston into custody on Monday and have identified him as one of the three suspects.

The investigation continues and police are hopeful that more arrests may proceed, following leads provided to them by Henderson-Houston.
