A supermarket in the UK is investigating an incident in which a cashier spewed hateful anti-gay speak to customers.
Gay Star News reports that Natalie Rivans and her girlfriend Helen Embleton were “mortified” when a female cashier at a Tesco store in London told them “gay people shouldn’t have babies” and that they should “die alone.”
The comment was evidently prompted by the checker’s previous customers, a pregnant lesbian couple.
Rivans reportedly called the woman out for her comments but was told that “It’s a free country so I can say what I like.” Perhaps she was trying to win back the Christian customers who boycotted the grocery chain back in 2011.

Perhaps she would change her views if someone bought her an inflatable gay best friend.
Rivans and Embleton then complained to the store’s manager, who apologized.
A spokesperson for the chain — which made news earlier this year for promising free erections from their ATM — said they would be investigating the incident. There was no word on how long the cashier would continue to be employed there.

The cashier will probably get a promotion. Tesco is a basket case, Warren Buffet dumped 256 million shares after they slumped to an 11 year low after four of the board were suspended for overstating profits by £263m. The Chairman and the MD have already stepped down. It’s a basket case of a store.

well the good thing about not having a boss and living in the USA, i can say, write, and sing what i feel: ALL Conservatives should be eliminated, this includes those who are Christian, or whatever other religion, political party or ideology they adhere too.

@corey: Only if you leave my grampa. The rest of the conservatives in my family seriously bite, but he’s the awesome kind who actually freely and willfully told people during the 2012 elections that for the first time in his entire life, he was choosing not to vote because “the unions always told me to vote Democrat and I don’t like being told what to do, but I’ll be damned if I’ll vote for these weak-willed mealy-mouthed hypocrites like Romney.” I guess he changed more than a couple of minds simply because his usual convictions were so strong that saying “this guy is so bad I can’t vote for him and still hold my head up” was shocking on the same level as Romney saying “gee, I’d love to raise taxes on big business and provide a safety net for our GLBT citizens.”

This has nothing whatsoever to do with free speech rather it is a case of gross misconduct by a member of Tesco’s staff who should after due investigation be fired if the story is correct .I am sure that Tesco like any business does not condone this behaviour .
