Winners of the 2018 Queerties were announced at a fabulous party on Hyde on Sunset, honoring our community’s brightest stars and innovators. Celebrities, journalists, social media mavens converged on the Los Angeles hotspot to mingle, enjoy a SKYY Vodka cocktail or three, and honor the best in LGBTQ media and entertainment.
The awards ceremony included a special performance by Jimmy Fowlie, a live DJ and a special video message from Greg Berlanti, director of Love, Simon.
With 500,000 Queerty reader votes counted, give a hand to the winners of this year’s Queerties…

Slight correction on 2nd Worst Person in the World winner Tomi Lahren, she got fired from The Blaze for coming out as Pro Choice on The View.

I cannot believe you even nominated Jaden Smith, let alone let him win. He’s a sodding $cientologist, who believe that being gay is deviant, it can be ‘audited’ out, ie conversion therapy.
“Leah Remini said the church has ‘a chart of human evaluation’ from Hubbard that helps Scientologists discern who they should have in their life. A 1.1 is the lowest on the scale and includes people who need a lot of help but aren’t worth helping, Remini said. That rank includes gay people.”
“Internally and for Scientologists, the position is there is something very wrong with a deviant behavior that needs to be dealt with with Scientology,” Rinder said of the church’s internal stance on homosexuality. Meaning as a person gets to the upper levels of Scientology, the ‘gayness’ will be audited out,”

Scientology may not be permissive of sexual orientation, but Jaden is definitely questioning his. He has appeared in dresses in fashion magazines and played a gay character in “The Get Down” (sadly canceled on Netflix).
Although I’m much too old to say this, the boy is beautiful and hot as hell. I’m sure he has a ton of followers on social media who wait to see what he does next with his clothing or music or acting.
I know he is a privileged kid of a multi-millionaire with avenues available to him that none of us will ever experience, but he seems to be making a name for himself.
I’m sure he will come out as gay or bisexual in the next few years.

And, I want to reiterate that Ellen is a fat-shamer and should be called out for it. I posted a longer message in the Oscars thread. I know she is a trailblazer, but I can’t get over her raccoon eye makeup and fat-shaming of women who travel to see her show.
