Openly gay Justin Nichols has reached a deal to step down from his gig at Collin County’s teen court program. Nichols' sexuality first became a matter of debate in March, when he was running for city council and an opponent questioned whether he was fit for his position. Though neither Nichols of Collin County will comment on the logistics of the deal, it seems pretty clear that people had a problem with Nichols same-sex loving ways: Mr. Nichols would not comment on the deal, citing a confidentiality clause in the agreement. The long-time Catholic priest resigned from his Dallas-area post yesterday as rumors swirled about his sexuality. Mallinson had moved to St. Michael's in McKinney just weeks ago and immediately found himself the subject of speculation after it was revealed he once contributed to a site for gay priests.
Dallas Diocese officials insist Mallinson did nothing wrong and will soon find a new assignment. The decision to leave, they say, was his alone. |

» Expansion.
Dallas-based Gay List Daily will be expanding its operations to include New York, Los Angeles and even a more general "national edition." For those unfamiliar with the List, we'll let the press release do the explaining: [The List is] a swank e-publication 'dedicated to making trendy gays even more trendy and gay." For further reference, please see Bruce LaBruce's Otto; Or, Up With Dead People. [Earth Times] |

Our - um - interest was piqued this morning when we read about a "pervert" who secretly films men's crotches on the subway, posts the videos on YouTube and provides dirty, lecherous commentary, like this: "The bulge on him just brings so much to the imagination . . . and the fact that he was oblivious to my filming is so great." Indeed… Lawyerly types told the New York Post that since the crotches are already "public display" and the man isn't making any money, there's nothing illegal about the videos. Someone else must have convinced the filmmaker otherwise, because the account - the appropriately entitled "househead7d5," which also included tours of Dallas' South Fork Ranch - has been closed. Another dream dashed… |
