Yes he is a registered Repub but he has made it know in the past he doesn’t agree with the GOP on a lot of things, asked to be removed from some Repub candidate’s election materials and has supported Dems in the past.

@jayceecook: Most black Americans are multi-racial and yet no one would ever look at us and say we were anything but black upon looking at us. I happen to be the same exact skin tone as the Rock and frequently get compared to him so I don’t think he looks any different than any other black guy.
He’s not getting a pass from me. A black person voting Republican for any reason is just as bad if not worse than a gay person voting Republican. You’re voting against your rights and in the case of black people against your own “race”. Republicans frequently favor laws that target blacks, specifically black males… things like racial profiling. The Rock can ignore this because he’s famous and clearly out of touch like Raven Symone. If he has kids and one or two happen to come out dark and get hit by one of the laws he ends up voting in favor of I don’t think he’ll find his immunity so special anymore.
Funny thing about being “biracial”/multi-racial is that you never know what combination will occur but more often than not someone will come out very dark down the line. So you don’t really get the luxury of pretending not to be black even if you want to for “reasons”.

I am a big fan of Ben Cohen and love the picture of him with the bear. As for Usher, wow the guy looks fantastic. People keep on saying Colton Haynes needs to come out of the closet but at this point, would it really matter?
By the way – have to love Dwayne Johnson. He is a head turner for sure. Love his cute smile and his movies (even the Disney ones!)

@Captain Obvious: Yes, the vast majority of African Americans and black people in the Americas are mixed. But then many white people have mixed ancestry as well. You can be black and mixed, or white and mixed, etc., or latino and black (Rosario Dawson, Zoe Saldana, Miguel) or latino and white (Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Sofia Vergara), to pick another example; these categories don’t cancel each other out.
Dwayne Rock Johnson is Samoan (mother) and African American (father was Afro-Canadian). He is black (he has used this term) and mixed. And, unfortunately, in my opinion but perhaps not others’, a Republican. I just hope he doesn’t agree with the GOP’s anti-black, anti-women, and anti-gay policies.

Here’s one. republicons passed a law making penalties for possession of crack cocaine harsher than for powder cocaine even though they are the same thing. Black people are thought to prefer smoking it while white people prefer snorting it. President Obama recently did away with harsher penalties for crack cocaine.
