People have fondly noticed some changes in actor James McAvoy. Namely, he’s gotten quite muscular for his new role in Glass, the Unbreakable and Split sequel from M Night Shyamalan:

I much prefer the early McAvoy, but that’s just my taste. No chance I’ll ever have either.
PinkoOfTheGange
“Last King of Scotland” He is perfection
PinkoOfTheGange
BTW just ignore naught Some people never post anything nice.
Brian
Of course. You’re a pedophile. You find every article about younger males, and you consistently offer creepy comments about how you wish they were minors. We know you. You don’t belong in society.
crowebobby
Dear Brian, Sweetie, finding McAvoy more attractive in his early 20’s hardly makes me a pedophile. True I’m not attracted to all the hot-house fake muscles on these young actors who’ve never done a day’s manual labor or had a single fight in their lives. For me, Nick Jonas peaked at 18; Keanu Reeves was still hot and doable at 29. Fortunately for me, you and Pat Robertson don’t get to choose who can and cannot be part of society.
DuMaurier
Your response to Brian was an intelligent, cogent rebuttal; not intending to criticize when I ask why you bother to waste it on him.
Knight
McAvoy is one of those mediocre actors that you catch yourself asking, “why was this guy ever given an opportunity? Oh, yeah…because he was willing to do full frontal (among other things) when he was younger…”
Not hating here, just very obvious and transparent. I have a LOT of very talented friends who are actors and incredibly talented. But as long as the casting-couch and nepotism rule Hollywood (and the British film council) we’ll get plenty more McAvoys.
crowebobby
If all it took was a willingness to do full frontal (and other things) to get roles in films, 99.9% of all the actors in the world would be constantly working. I was a very mediocre dancer, but once I worked for a choreographer and proved I could not only do the work but was reliable and fun to work with, I got hired over the unknown entities even if they were obviously technically better than I was. I loved McAvoy in the UK’s “Shameless” and found him far hotter than his only slightly-above-average looks warranted.

You might also want to check out the very large number of credits he earned starting at age 15.
Knight
LOL…you might simply be assuming that all actors have your low standards of ethics. I can assure you that many do not. I go to LA from time to time to hang with friends, and there are a couple of clubs where I have had very hideous guys come hit on me, drunkenly and say very direct things such as “I’m a producer for XXXXXX, we’re looking for walk-ons, if you’re as good looking naked as you are with those clothes on, I can definitely get you on”. And to answer your question: no…I didn’t think twice about any of them. And my friends are constantly exchanging stories about the casting couch, which is why I’m very hesitant to believe some of the stories about individuals here, while others are blatantly true (*cough* Singer *cough). A lot of guys will not do full frontal simply because they CAN’T…they don’t have the “goods”. In fact, I know of 2 instances in some notable movies where they guys wore prosthetics (not the Hunger Games dude…that one was a given). The full-frontal scene with McAvoy in “the Last King of Scotland” was completely gratuitous…there was no reason for it other than to pander to a gay audience (and a very specific sub-set of it at that). So, my assessment of McAvoy stands…and I think your 99.9% figure is very inflated.
ptb2016
Goodness aren’t you angry! James is very talented, and I doubt he ever needed the casting couch. Perhaps you did and still didn’t get the job. Must be some reason for such envy and anger at someone else’s success. Now if you were talking about any of the nothing but bodies who somehow get from reality tv into dramatic television and then movies…..
Knight
PTB you didn’t seem to read or understand what I said. And no, I have no desire to go into the industry…which is why I’ve always said “no thank you” when the opportunities I described occur (and they happen every other time I head to LA). Anyway, I get it…you’re a fan-boy. I am not, so I see things with a little more clarity.
crowebobby
Dear Mr. Knight, McAvoy’s been nominated 30 times for Best Performer or Best Actor and won Best Actor 11 times. He’s done 35 films, 15 TV shows and 13 plays (3 of them Shakespearean. You’re still entitled to your opinion of his acting, but perhaps you shouldn’t deliver it as if it were gospel.
He did a “terrifying” BASE jump from the world’s tallest hospital building in a bid to help raise money for Ugandan children’s charity Retrak, an organisation which assists children on the streets He is a celebrity supporter of the British Red Cross with whom he traveled to Uganda to raise awareness of the projects there. In 2015, he pledged £125,000 to a 10-year scholarship program at his former drama school, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
He was educated at Catholic schools and wanted to be a priest before he decided on acting.
Knight
Crowe obviously if I comment on whether or not an actor has talent, it is in fact my opinion…not gospel. The fact you would take it as such is just odd. Maybe you should simply walk away from the conversation/topic since you seem to be a little too obsessed here.
KaiserVonScheiss
I remember Children of Dune.
PinkoOfTheGange
So you are the one that is keeping its memory alive…please stop it. 🙂
ChrisK
Ha. I’m a Dune fan and I’ve never heard of it till now.
KaiserVonScheiss
@ChrisK
He played Leto II. It was on the SciFi channel in 2003, I think. I mainly remember him being shirtless for most of the mini-series. Personally, I think those blue eyes of spice addiction are to die for.
DuMaurier
They did ‘Children of Dune’?? How did I not know that? So they skipped ‘Dune Messiah’??
Mwestport
I liked that series then but Susan Sarandon is in it. It’s dead to me now.
This new JMA will take some getting use too but not much.
AlanZ
I saw what you did there Mwestport! And your not alone.
AlanZ
IMHO I have seen him in hundreds of things. I’ve seen him in various tv bit parts, I think it was Midsummers Murders that I saw this kid looked to be maybe 18. And then his role in Shameless. Kind of really love British TV and movie. So like I said this is all my opinion. I like watching him act. He iseems to know his craft. He makes me believe in his character. And he is able to be different characters. As far as his doing a full frontal so what? Male frontal nudity in the US is a joke. Women parade around barely bare bushes and boobs,…Bushes and Boobs, sounds like a strip club. And also in my opinion James is one sweet looking tight little body. I have no interest in the bulked up gym body at all. Just my taste. His body now does nothing for me. Before this new body he and I had a couple nice memorable couple of hours..lol. If the film subject were something I were interested I might watch.. but that didn’t sound my taste.
Billy Budd
He is cute and adorable. I was fascinated with his public bromance with Michael Fassbender, another one of my crushes. I would like to see them making out on the big screen.
phallictomato
WTF? How do all these celebrities change their entire body shape – not just going from thin to fat and vice versa, but physically looking like an ectomorph (the skinny one) to changing into someone looking like a mesomorph? (the medium – muscley type). Who are these magical trainers? I don’t get it. How is this possible?
Knight
Phal it’s possible, but it requires drugs, supplements and a very controlled diet. It’s not fun, which is why most actors you see only do this leading up to specific roles, then revert back to their “natural state”.
Brody
Another example of short men being hot men.
o.codone
Three months on 30mg of Anavar and you too will be jacked as sh*it.
Bradsman
He was such a cutie.
phallictomato
@Knight – ah, thanks for that info! I wonder what drugs, supplements and diet they have to take, to look like that. Even if it would make me completely hangry and bitchy – I don’t think I’d mind looking like that, if only for a short period of time.
caterc1
I love him all the time. He is cute and adorable. And no matter how his style changes, he is just like those millionaires or billlionaires on http://www.millionairedating.tips, so rich and handsome. And they have their own lifestyle and opinions. Also I know that lots of women like him.
crowebobby
Knight: McAvoy is one of those mediocre actors that you catch yourself asking, “why was this guy ever given an opportunity? ***Oh, yeah…because he was willing to do full frontal (among other things) when he was younger…”***
Maybe you should learn to graciously admit when you’re wrong. End of conversation . . . at least on my part.
