Matthew McConaughey might be picking up an Oscar in a few weeks, but there’s a kid out there that may give him a run for his money in 20 years or so.
Cinefix rounded up the cutest kids they could find, slapped adult wigs and facial hair on them, and had them re-enact scenes from each of this year’s nine films nominated for the Best Picture Oscar.
Of course, we’re partial to the LGBT/AIDS-themed Dallas Buyers Club parody that starts at the three-minute mark, but there are definitely a few chuckles to be had in them all.
The 12 Years A Slave parody is brilliant, Captain Phillips is funny and kind of disturbing, and there was something about the small child with a gigantic curly afro in the American Hustle parody that had us in stitches.
Watch, and remind yourself not to take Oscar season so seriously. These kids certainly aren’t.

The kids are all adorable, but I don’t like the first scene. I hate seeing kids with guns regardless of the context.

Kids like seeing kids with guns. Your idealism is fine for you, but throw two boys in the back yard, and in no time they are picking up sticks and playing guns or swords with them. Let’s not dump our stuff on them. It’s 100% normal age-appropriate play.
