Which film inspired this talented young actor to release a queer anthem?

We’re not sure how well Keiynan Lonsdale dances, but if he’s got a box step or a chasse up his sleeve, he’ll officially be a triple threat.

The Falsh and Love, Simon star has just released a new song called “Kiss the Boy,” and the video is chock full of adorable same-sex affection.

He told Billboard he was inspired to write the tune after seeing the first trailer for Love, Simon:

“I was thinking about the Love, Simon trailer and I was really happy. Eventually, I got the hook, ‘If you wanna kiss the boy/ Then you better kiss the boy right now.’ … I had so much to draw off, with the movie, my own personal life and every relationship I’d been in and other people’s stories that they’d told me.”

Lonsdale came out in an Instagram post in 2017, writing: “I like to change my hair, I like to take risks with how I dress, I like girls, & I like guys (yes), I like growing, I like learning, I like who I am and I really like who I’m becoming.”
