The speech will happen shortly after 9 p.m. Eastern time and will last a little over an hour. Trump is said to have been practicing “meticulously” and will cover “a lot of territory” in the address.

Invitations to the historic event went out a few days ago and included an embarrassing typo. The White House misspelled the word “union,” instead writing “uniom.” After the error was pointed out, no effort was made to correct it.

It is very hard not to see what is going on in the United States today and be very happy about it.Since president trump entered the White House ISIS has lost 98% of its territory. Growth In the economy is almost double Obama’s 8 year average.The Dow Jones is at 26000 points and going higher.
Unemployment is at 4.1% and going lower.
Unemployment among blacks is at the lowest in recorded history.

Now that President Donald Trump has been in office for one day shy of a full year, it’s time to take a look at how well his boasts — and his critics’ complaints — stack up against hard data.
Here we offer key measures of what has happened since Trump was sworn in on Jan. 20, 2017, according to the most up-to-date and reliable statistical sources available. Some highlights:
— Employment growth slowed by 12 percent. Nevertheless, the unemployment rate kept dropping, reaching a 17-year low. The number of job vacancies rose, also to a nearly 17-year record.
— Economic growth picked up to a 3.2 percent annual rate in the July-September quarter from 1.5 percent for all of 2016.
— The number of people caught trying to cross the border with Mexico fell by nearly half.

— The number of people without health insurance went up — by 200,000 according to a government survey, and by 3.2 million according to a more recent Gallup poll.
— The U.S. trade deficit that Trump promised to bring down grew instead, getting 11.5 percent larger.
— The number of people on food stamps, which Trump wants to cut, grew by nearly 3 million.
— The federal debt rose nearly 3 percent; projected annual deficits worsened.
— Trump won confirmation for a dozen federal appeals court judges — quadruple the number Obama put on the bench during his first year.
— The U.S. image abroad took a hit. The number of foreigners telling pollsters they have a favorable view of the USA fell nearly everywhere. The only big gain was in Russia.

Employment — Total nonfarm employment grew by 1.84 million during the president’s first 11 months in office, according to the most recent figures available from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It’s a respectable gain, to be sure. But it’s 12 percent lower than the 2.01 million jobs that were created in the 11 months before he entered office.
The average monthly job gain under Trump is now 167,182, well behind the average monthly gain of 213,708 jobs during Obama’s entire second term. It’s also well shy of the pace required to meet his goal of 25 million new jobs over 10 years.
Trump will have to pick up the pace if he is to fulfill his campaign boast that he will be “the greatest jobs creation president that God ever created.”

Nobody is upset with that. Those are all great things…. That Trump had absolutely nothing to do with. Ask any reputable economist and they’ll tell you the metrics during the first year of a presidents term are all leftovers from the last year or so of the previous presidents term. Trump is riding high and taking credit for Obama’s accomplishments. Literally nothing Trump has done could POSSIBLY have had a meaningful affect on the economy yet. Not one thing.

Where are you getting that? Historically the economy has ALWAYS done better under Democratic leadership. 9 of the last 10 recessions have been because of Republican leadership. Not to mention “since World War II, Democratic presidents have seen 24.4 million more jobs created on their watch—an average of 78.6% more jobs created per year of Democratic administrations—than have Republican presidents. Ditto real GDP growth, 44% higher under Democratic presidents. On the flip side, unemployment has been 18% higher under GOP presidents”

Plus the Democrats originally said the memo was a “threat to national security”, then that story changed to “it’s fake”, to the story that “we’re just going to write our own memo”. Sounds like panic to quickly spin something before the American people can read it.
Reporters are even saying that Christopher Wray was deeply disturbed by what was contained in this memo. Very convenient that the shady Deputy Director of the FBI steps down hours before the memo is voted to be released.

I never said that. You’re putting words in my mouth. As per reporting, the memo focuses on FISA warrants, the FBI, surveillance, the DOJ, and other government overreach, nothing regarding prominent Democrats as you allege according to reports. Although I feel the American people are entitled to transparency and should know about the practices of the FBI, the DOJ, and their agents if their activities broke any ethical concerns and especially any laws. Not sure why you’re against that to the point that you’re typing all caps furiously into your keyboard.

One comment here is probably quite true, that esteem for the US has fallen around the world.
