A trio of homophobes learned the hard way this week why you should never enter a West Hollywood Starbucks and start hurling antigay slurs at customers.
The incident happened yesterday morning. For whatever reason, three men, ages 18 to 23, entered the Starbucks on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood, arguably one of the gayest coffee shops in one of the gayest neighborhoods in America, and began spewing antigay expletives at customers who, up until then, had been peacefully sipping their non-fat, sugar-free vanilla lattes while perusing Grindr.
“You will die, fucking faggots!” one of the men allegedly announced to the entire store.

Joseph Daniels, who was waiting in line at the time, told WEHOville, “It was very scary and unexpected.” But he wasn’t going to let a group of d-bags get the best of him. He walked over to the men and told them their behavior was “rude.”
Then the manager came along and told them to get the hell out.
The thugs refused to leave and proceeded to call everyone in the store “faggots.” And that’s when things got really heated. Because unbeknownst to the homophobes, Leslie Jordan happened to be there.
Yes, the Leslie Jordan.
The 4’11 Southern gentleman approached the men, fuming, and told them to “Get out of my house!” before chasing them out the front doors.

Once outside, the men continued screaming antigay epithets. But Jordan wasn’t having any of it.
“The guy lunged at Leslie to hit him,” Daniels said of one of the men. “Then Leslie threw his drink at the guy. Then (another) guy threw his drink to hit me.”
Police were called. They advised Jordan and the other patrons not to file charges against the homophobes, saying that if they did the men could accuse them of assault for throwing coffee at them.
Daniels told WEHOville that the three men stormed away, but continued screaming “faggots” and making obscene gestures.
“He provoked it,” Daniels said of one of the three men. “He spewed hate crime words against everybody and threw a drink at Leslie. Why couldn’t he have been charged with disorderly conduct?”
We just hope someone in the store had the good sense to take a cellphone video of the incident. If so, give us a [email protected]

This is typical of the Sheriff’s dept in WeHo. When I lived there, a homophobic drug-dealing neighbor became *really* angry with me when I kept ruining all of his drug deals by shouting out what he was doing every time someone came over to his apartment to buy drugs. You wouldn’t believe the low-lives who came by there, smoking crack in our garage, etc.
Finally, he came after me one night with a baseball bat. Since I didn’t have a similar weapon, I got inside my apartment and called the cops – the dispatcher could clearly hear him screaming hysterically, and the sound of the baseball bat splintering my door. Most of the screams consisted of ‘faggot’ this and ‘fucking faggot’ that, and ‘I’ll kill you, you fucking faggot’. When the Sheriff’s deputies arrived, they heard what he had been yelling, and the female deputy couldn’t keep the loathing – for ME – out of her voice. She said that they had no plans on arresting him for assault or hate crime. Stunning, since he was still holding the baseball bat, my door was shredded and he was STILL screaming ‘faggot’ at me. So I performed a citizens arrest and they took him away. He was bailed out a few hours later, and at his hearing in front of a judge, I overheard two prosecutors sitting in front of me, discussing the charges. They wondered why a citizen’s arrest had to be performed, and why the guy wasn’t arrested for assault and charged with a hate crime. I tapped them on the shoulder and told them who I was and let them know what happened with the Sheriff’s deputies. They shook their heads and said that this happened constantly with certain deputies in the department, who were extremely homophobic. It was well known that they wouldn’t arrest or allow charges to be pressed. Not all deputies, but quite a few of them. That was quite a while ago, but it still seems that the department hasn’t changed much.

An officer is not only not allowed to give legal advice but they also only have a high school education. They literally have no idea what to do beyond their training which their training is always supposed to encourage a victim of a crime to file a report.
Not only should the boys who were clearly paid to do this be reported but the officers who clearly set this up too.
People too easily forget that anyone can become a police officer including a KKK member with no public face as a member.

When a police officer threatens to file an assault charge against you when you’re the victim of a hate crime you better be asking yourself “Why?”. Police officers would never do anything wrong like jump on the car of an unarmed couple and empty a clip or harass Muslims into leaving the country permanently.

I once even had evidence of it on my phone and the officer I showed it to literally deleted all 3 videos before handing my phone back and threatening to put me on a 5150… for calmly showing him a video of 3 kids on the roof of my apartment building(right above my apartment) at 3 am.
So I too was threatened with a charge for trying to file a report. But I’m not a celebrity and I had no witnesses just my video evidence(which as I said was deleted by the officer). I was forced to let it go and it just got worse from there until I was harassed into leaving by a much larger group(about 10) of kids physically assaulting me in ways that I wouldn’t be able to report without coming off ridiculous.
This was simply too many men involved for the police to cover it up and it’s sad that the opportunity to report and have a voice was wasted. They don’t want their pawns going to jail because they’d sing like canaries and this crap would come to light.
They don’t have any college educated people involved but as we’ve seen with Ferguson they do have access to military technology. We can’t afford to continue ignoring police sponsored harassment.
Please people start speaking up when you have witnesses. I wasn’t lucky enough to have any and once it starts it doesn’t “stop” until you leave.

You really think 3 kids just came into an establishment full of men for no reason risking their own safety just to hurl slurs? They felt safe because they knew in advance that they had police protection. Just like when police officers used to go into gay bars with clubs and beat gay men within an inch of their lives and set up black men for “raping” white women they never touched let alone interacted with so they’d be lynched by the community.
