Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she has reported late-show host Jimmy Kimmel to the Capitol Police.

In a monologue on his show yesterday, Kimmel highlighted Greene’s objections to Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson being confirmed for the Supreme Court. Greene has called anyone who supports Jackson, including some of her GOP colleagues, “pro-pedophile”.

Many on the far right of the GOP have pushed a narrative of overly Judge Jackson being lenient when it came to the treatment of sex offenders.

After highlighting Greene’s stance, Kimmel asked, “Where’s Will Smith when you need him?”, prompting laughter from the audience. Actor Smith has dominated headlines after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars last week.

Greene tweeted the clip, tagging ABC News: “@ABC, this threat of violence against me by @jimmykimmel has been filed with the @CapitolPolice”.

Kimmel himself was quick to respond, retweeting Greene with the caption: “Officer? I would like to report a joke.”

Greene’s original tweet has prompted over 16,000 comments. Many have highlighted the Georgia representative’s passionate defense of free speech, and her previous criticism of the Capitol Police following the Jan. 6 insurrection. She was one of 21 Republicans to vote against awarding the Congressional Gold Medal to police officers following the storming of the Capitol building.

Others reminded Greene of her own praise of Smith for slapping Rock.

When not ranting about the expected confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson, Greene also took time yesterday to remind people she’s staunchly anti-trans rights. She tweeted “Either you are Pro-pedophile and Pro-transgender biological men or you defend children and women. Period. There is no other option.”

Yesterday, former President Donald Trump endorsed Greene in her reelection bid.

“She doesn’t back down, she doesn’t give up, and she has ALWAYS been with ‘Trump,’” the former president said in a statement through his Save America PAC.

“She loves our Country and MAGA, its greatest ever political movement. Marjorie is running for re-election to Congress, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”
