Fashion faux pas

Memers come for Melania Trump and her tacky “I really don’t care, do u?” jacket

First lady Melania Trump flew down to the US-Mexico border yesterday to tour one of the prisons where the Trump administration is holding immigrant children against their wills. But it wasn’t the impromptu trip that got everyone’s attention.

FLOTUS boarded her plane wearing an olive green jacket that read “I really don’t care. Do u?” in white graffiti-style lettering.

The $39 jacket is last season Zara.

Many interpreted the jacket as a not-so-subtle “f*ck you” to all those criticizing the Trump administration’s handling of the immigration crisis.

Afterwards, her staff blew off suggestions that Melania had intentionally worn the jacket to send some sort of message.

“It’s a jacket,” East Wing communications director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement. “There was no hidden message. After today’s important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn’t going to choose to focus on her wardrobe.”

This was later contradicted by Donald Trump himself when he tweeted that, actually, there was a hidden message in Melania’s jacket and it was directed at the “Fake News Media” who she “truly no longer cares” about:

But memers aren’t buying the excuses…
