Call it this, or call it that…It is a place that puts ourselves as a community under the microscope and leads to much (hostile and opinionated) debate from people who keep coming back for more…which is what I see here. What does that say about us as a community?

I may be a telling on myself here as a middle-aged Gay man, but I’m glad that there places like this on the Internet (or that we are now enjoying an Internet at this point in my life). When I was much younger there were no glossy websites (or any websites for that matter) for the LGBT community. Finding a sense of community was not an easy thing especially living in the rural South. My closest connection was a Gay Switchboard operator from Gainsville, FL. I was able to get my hands on a booklist from an LGBT bookstore (Giovanni’s Room in Philadelphia) to order a few books that related to my experience. That sums up my outlets for a “community” back then. Now, we have so many more opportunities to connect including this website. That experience may have been before many people’s time. So, try to appreciate this LGBT website and the fact that it exists. Today, we have so many ways to connect and build our own communities. THAT is a treasure built by many of the middle-aged and elderly members of our community.

Well first of allAdam is not a diver but the fastest man in the world in breaststroke. I thought no these pictures are far from flattering as he’s a really good looking, really charming, very grounded young man. In the Gay Times in U.K. last year there was a gorgeous photo of him in skimpy light green speedos that revealed as much as anybody would like to know about what Adam has to offer!
