I think Renee is extraordinarily talented and I’m glad to see her again in a quality production. I think Judy was the greatest singer/entertainer of all time, but I can barely see Judy in Renee. Judy was haggard decades beyond her years in 1968 and did not possess the glamorous look presented in this movie. Her enormous brown eyes were not the squinty eyes of Renee but beyond all of the things that are wrong, I think Renee will give an Oscar worthy performance.

Judy Garland at this phase of her life looked terrible. She was underweight and had aged terribly from all the substance use. Not only does Zellweger not look much like her, but why have they tried to make her look like she’s 28?

Myself, I am anticipating a bravura performance from Ms. Z.
