Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson is having a bad time right now, getting nailed by pundits and on Twitter both for blaming Hillary Clinton and President Obama for the 2004 death of Army Capt. Humayun Khan, whose father criticized Trump at the 2016 DNC, and for making antigay comments.

Pierson dodged repeated questions by Wolf Blitzer, during a CNN interview Tuesday night, about whether or not Trump had apologized to the Khan family, after suggesting that the reason the late soldier’s mother, Ghazala Khan, hadn’t spoken was perhaps because she wasn’t allowed to speak.

Khan answered back in an article published by The Washington Post, saying, “Donald Trump has asked why I did not speak at the Democratic convention. He said he would like to hear from me. Here is my answer to Donald Trump: Because without saying a thing, all the world, all America, felt my pain. I am a Gold Star mother. Whoever saw me felt me in their heart.”

Pierson, as Trump’s mouthpiece, tried to shift the blame to Clinton and Obama, in spite of the fact that when Capt. Khan died we were under the leadership of President George W. Bush. Thanks, Obama. Way to make Bush go to war!

Twitter is doing what Twitter loves to do in times like these, laughing at her expense with the hashtag #KatrinaPiersonHistory.

She is also hearing about it over the time she took to Twitter to make antigay remarks. The incident stretches back to 2012, but is now coming more to light due to her “Thanks, Obama” gaff bringing her more into the spotlight.

When asked for comment about her antigay tweets, and how that squares with Trump claiming he is a friend to the LGBT community, Pierson balked.

“What does 2012 have to do with the 2016 presidential campaign?” she told The Huffington Post in an email.

Unfortunately for her, Twitter found them relevant.

Ouch.
