Soap operas once ruled daytime TV. Those days have long since passed, with only a handful of daytime dramas still on the air today. Fortunately for fans of drama and all things queer, EastSiders returns for a third series.
For the uninitiated, EastSiders earned wide acclaim when it premiered back in 2012 for its portrayal of life in Los Angeles among gay and non-gay couples alike. Created by series star Kit Williamson, the show also features Stephen Guarino (of The Big Gay Sketch Show) and Willam Belli (of RuPaul’s Drag Race) as regular cast members.
Season 3 also offer the return of actress Traci Lords in her recurring role as Valerie, the mother of series protagonist Cal, along with guest spots by Wilson Cruz (of Star Trek: Discovery) and Trump-loving porn model Colby Keller, whose casting so far has not ruffled too many feathers.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
The new season finds the characters stranded in Palm Springs, and as with New York and Los Angeles, EastSiders captures the simple beauty of the city with a warm glow befitting its cast. As with its other acclaimed seasons, EastSiders continues to look at modern relationships, and the roles commitment, sexuality and professional life play in finding love. The talented, sexy cast also makes each 25 minute episode a worthy watch.
Oh yeah, and since Colby’s character gets several sex scenes this season, we’re sure you should set aside some time for a watch.
EastSiders streams on LogoTV, Netflix, Vimeo and iTunes.

This is such a terrible, witless, shallow web series that does nothing but highlight the most base level stereotypes while giving no insight into such things. I understand that Looking was dependent on ratings more than this (and boy, was its ratings bad), but it’s kind of a shame that this persists instead.

Enough of the Trumper, Colby Keller.

It does seem extremely hypocritical that this site dumps on Trump and anyone who supports him (and yes, I know the convoluted reason why he supposedly voted for Trump). Yet, this douche continues to get free promo because he has sex with people on camera and is appearing in some little watched, little liked program. But overt hypocrisy is nothing new for this site.

Isn’t this the main problem here? that we’re so eager to jump down anyone’s throat that we disagree with without acknowledging that their viewpoint is actually worthy of respect if not consideration.
Colby (can I call him Colby?) presented a thought out rationale about why he voted a certain way. Hell he was apologetic about the whole thing and kept emphasizing how much he disagreed with Trump on almost every issue. And yet we still get people calling him Trump-lover; simplifying a cogent argument into a soundbite that we can easily dismiss.
I may not agree with Colby’s decision to vote for Trump. But I respect that he had the intelligence to form his own opinion about what’s going on in his country and that he had the courage to speak up about it in a public forum despite a truly toxic environment for nuanced discourse.
I for one think that America would be better off with more people like Colby. Not more Trump supporters persay. But more people willing to form their own opinions and stand up for what they believe in, popular or not.
Brody
Ah yes, Colby Keller, the avowed communist who voted for Donald Trump in an effort to “destabilize” the U.S.A.
And people say we don’t have any positive role models.

I usually disagree with every single thing Brody says.
But having reviewed this sarcastic tweet …..it’s pretty much perfect.

Colby is hot. That’s why they didn’t complain. In the gay world, you can say what you want, betray your community and get away with it if your a hot sexy white man. Eastsiders proved that. They need to work and the ratings so they allowed it. No power in that group of actors. Just goes to show you where our community is at. Actually there isn’t one anymore.
Mmmrrrggglll
I watched the “first season” of this show recently. I enjoyed it. A little bit of a downer, but I thought it was successful in portraying a failing gay relationship. At least from my experience 😉

I watched the episode with Colby and he was super sexy (I can separate my politics from my entertainment) but the shows lead characters are hard to care about and left me a bit cold
DCguy
Well since you can separate your politics from entertainment, I guess they should hire some of the Nazi school shooters, an Isis terrorist who cuts off heads, or a Pastor calling for lgbts to be murdered.
Yes, I’m pulling this out to a ridiculous extreme, but it is still basically what you said.
