DANCING QUEEN

Yanis Marshall’s Five Most Flawless Dance Routines

maxresdefaultThey may have been axed by Simon Cowell in the final round of Britain’s Got Talent last week, but the fact that French choreographer Yanis Marshall and his friends were even performing on such a public stage is a testament to just how far they’ve come since dazzling the world with their first viral hit, a Spice Girls megamix tribute filmed on the streets of Paris.

Men in heels have come and gone, but Marshall is showing great promise as this generation’s next great gay choreographer. Fall in love with his five most flawless dance routines below:

Kylie Minogue’s “Sexercize”

Marshall could perhaps be described as a male Nicole Scherzinger — he’s best when surrounded by other sexy and talented people, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hold his own in a dance battle to the death. One of his greatest rehearsals ever was solo, when he performed original choreography to Kylie Minogue’s “Sexercize” for a class at Italy’s WHES Dance Convention in March.

Homegirl is feelin’ her gig throughout the three-minute video above, but if you’re looking for a treat, fast-forward to 1:06 and feast your eyes on one of the greatest drop-to-the-floor-and-roll-around-like-a-sex-crazed-maniac moves we’ve ever seen. If “sexography” were a thing, Yanis Marshall would be the godfather.

Kylie’s also been known to work with up-and-coming gay choreographers. We sure hope she takes note of this diva right here.

Beyonce Medley

No surprise that Marshall’s latest megamix compilation is also one of his most brilliant. His high-energy performance in the Beyonce medley above, alongside his trusty dancers Arnaud Boursain and Mehdi Mamine, is actually the rehearsal for their final Britain’s Got Talent gig.

Fast forward to 1:37 to watch this incredible threesome absolutely murder the chorus of “Crazy In Love”.

Lana Del Rey‘s “Brite Lites”

This multi-talented Frenchman does not exclusively dance to pop music, as evident by the salyage happening in this routine set to the funky sounds of Lana Del Rey’s “Brite Lites”. These boys spice things up with prop magazines, flipping the pages to the beat and inspiring one of the greatest Tumblr gif sets of all time.

Beyonce’s “Partition”

The deadly bass line and brazen sexuality in “Partition” make it hard for anyone, professional or not, to look unsexy while moving to it. But Yanis, of course, raises the bar so high that even Beyonce herself approved in a shout-out on Facebook.

If you want your mind totally blown, fast-forward to the 1:13 mark, when he snaps back and serves the most flawless Sasha Fierce pose we’ve seen since 2008. Admit it. Yanis Marshall is everything you think you see when you dance in front of the mirror…

Lady Gaga‘s “Donatella”

A dance choreographed to Gaga’s ode to the fashion industry produces the kind of high-quality entertainment that needs to be featured on every catwalk in Milan. Designers have long been fans of quirky performances to enhance their collections, and if Gaga herself can get hired to be vomited on, picking up a gig at Fashion Week 2015 should be no problem for these guys.
