New York-based fashion photographer Tarik Carroll created The EveryMAN Project as a way to celebrate men of all shapes, sizes, colors, identities, and backgrounds.
“I grew tired of creating visuals that I couldn’t see myself represented in,” he tells Gay Star News. “I grew tired of working in an industry where my black, plus-size, queer body was not represented.”

“I created EveryMAN to inspire and empower,” Carroll says. “But I had no idea that it would grow into such a movement.”
Since its inception, the project has attracted international attention, leading to brand collaborations with ASOS and All Saints, and creating opportunities for a new class of male models.
“This project is geared towards creating a safe space that I hope will serve to liberate men worldwide from self hate,” he says.
“We create visuals that spark much needed conversations about body diversity, representation in media of all male body types, toxic masculinity and mental health.”

Carroll shows now signs of stopping anytime soon. He says he has a lot coming down the pipeline.
“Our goal currently is to build out the community even more,” he explains. “We are planning a few fun events for 2019 surrounding wellness and fitness.”
“We have a few exciting things up our sleeves in addition to the completion of our coffee table book and a documentary.”

Some of these guys are grossly obese and need to be under the care of a doctor asap. If you think that’s sexy then you just have a fetish for it.

You are exactly why this campaign was created. Your negativity and cruel comments reflect the kind of person you are.
Billy Budd
It is really nice, but as JackOff material, it is a failure.

Fake news!

I never understood this nonsense that “we’re beautiful at any size”
There is nothing beautiful about being so obese that you have heart problems, can’t work, difficulty breathing, need a doctor to amputate your feet from diabetes, need a power scooter at the grocery store, can’t wipe yourself after taking a dump, and then become bedridden and develop urine burns because you piss your bed every day
Doesn’t sound very empowering to me

Listen, I’m a fatty and I completely agree. There’s nothing cute or positive about being heavyset. It really sucks. I love food so much lol…it’s an addiction. Being health simply makes you feel better. I’ve been on a few diets and I can promise you, when I was doing it right, I felt so much better. We all deserve love. But, we should be encouraged to live healthy in every facet of life.

Strangely, diverse, in this case, seems to mean fat & bearded.

Hey to all the jerks, I wanna see pictures of your perfect bodies please. I’m sure you are just waiting for the invite to share baby….Just because someone looks “different’ than you be that better or worse in your opinion…doesn’t mean that they need all the negative comments. To the person who said “nice but not jack*-off material”…well dude…hopefully not everything is or you’ll spend way too much time alone in your room….People are beautiful at any size because true beauty comes from within, not just the outside if you are that shallow well then good luck finding an Adonis that is as shallow and vapid as you are…you should be very happy together fighting over that same mirror to admire your perfect self in.
whateverokok
You are right beauty does come from within. But we’re talking about obesity, not beauty, which is what a good chunk of these people are experiencing. Obesity is not healthy or sexy. Some of these people featured have breasts that are bigger than some women’s breasts. If you as a man have bigger boobs than a lot of women you are not sexy.
Libertas Belle
Holy he||, some of these comments are nasty and catty. If you don’t like the looks of someone, fine, but no need to shame and make fun of them.
Out of all the pictures, only 3 men are obese, the others are bears of various sizes. Just because someone is obese doesn’t give you the right to judge them. That’s the whole point of this project.
I find men of all shapes, sizes, colors, and ages to be sexy. Guess I’m lucky to live and work in a college town where I get to see the beauty of man from around the globe.
QueerTruth
Donald,
Internal beauty is another ball game.
This is about visualization. And most people are not looking for ordinary or out of shape people on a magazine or in a porn video.
So whether they are beautiful on the inside is a moot point. Besides, why do you think these men would be anymore beautiful internally than an attractive model. Being physically unattractive doesn’t mean you are attractive on the inside.
StupidBoy
If it’s one thing I’ve learned from “Instastuds” and online comments: don’t go outside if you don’t have a six-pack.
IWantAFullBeard
The comments here are pathetically sad. The point is that every single person has something to work on but that doesn’t mean you can’t feel good about yourself right now. What – because you are overweight you shouldn’t step outside?
Besides I’d bet every dollar I have that people making those comments are physically revolting (clearly their personality is crap too).
