On Inauguration Day 2017, the former chief official White House photographer, Pete Souza, deleted his old Instagram account and began a new one charting The Way We Live Now.

And, as New York Magazine notes, Souza appears to be doing so in a particularly sly manner that’s probably all but lost on the current administration.
So far, this new account is focused on posting old photos from the Obama years that stand in marked contrast to the trajectory of current events in 2017.

Obama was a natural. I miss him. The GOP could have showed more spine. When they approved of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III that’s when I knew they were beyond help. The entire Republican party is complicit in this travesty. Trump is just a dollop on top. Let’s show the world how citizens come back from this. Let’s also learn from the Koch brothers, for stacking the deck against the will of the people one lowly politician at a time. It didn’t seem like their original intent. President Obama’s plans for recovery were spot on, and the trajectory was with us. Colluded efforts from Russia to FBI, from big business to our bedrooms, from separation of church and state to the beliefs of others putting reins on unpopular, tax paying citizens. GOP keep your beliefs off of me. Should you forge a theocracy via political means, will we be following the deceived ones who belive Christ will return before the 7th trump, the ones wishing upon a star, or the idolatrous ones?
