Anyone needing another reason to look forward to June beyond the Pride month celebrations, look no further: the first teaser for the Queer as Folk reboot has arrived!
The new show, set to debut on Peacock June 9, reimagines the American version of the series that debuted in 2000 but in a modern context. As developed by Stephen Dunn, the show will focus on the issues facing a diverse group of LGBTQ friends living in New Orleans. Russell T. Davies, who produced the American version and created the original British version of the show, will also executive produce.

Oh, great a PG-13 Queer as Folk. Hard pass.

Lol it’s a tv show, not Pornhub

Way too little to be shown to make that assumption.

Not teased.

First tired of the teasing headlines. The vid was nothing and very disappointed in that. Second I was hoping to get a view of the mood of the show and didn’t. So to me hard pass on going out of my way to watch it. Obviously it’s going to be a stinker. They seem to be afraid to give a real sneek peak. Sad.

Can’t wait to see how they ruin QAF by making it more “inclusive” and gender-neutral. Looking forward to the flop!

The Tales of the City reboot was fairly horrific. But Armistead got paid and moved to London. If this pic of Mingus is any example, the gay and lesbian characters will fade intro the background and the non-binary etc will take over. Sigh.

I love a show about neon signs!!!!

Really! Why did they bother?

Who in hell is managing Kim Cattrall’s career???

Americans don’t know when to quit. The original English series was 13 episodes and ended there — perfect. Naturally, Americans had to capitalize on the name (which doesn’t even mean anything to Americans) and milk it. It looks like this one is SO far from the original story line that the only common denominator is the Babylon Club. Stop reinventing something that should have ended long ago!

the UK series was great. the US series started out great but then fell into this horribly stereotypical show about one guy who was able to have sex with anyone , anytime with rarely any repercussions. the stories didn’t go deep enough and the relationships became so unbelievable i remember asking if any of the writers were gay and had actually been to a gay bar. at the time i remember thinking pittsburgh certainly had it going on.

So why use the name of an old series.
Can’t you just come u with a new show and be a little creative with a name.
I can only guess there’s not much there, there.
ShiningSex
looks dull. should be called something else.
Rock Star
Well we shall see. Hard to repeat the original in its intensity and all out vapid unrelenting search for boy of the day, or night as it were.
The two main characters of course stole the show. Innocence itself meets decadence personified. Brian and Justin forever!
So however this iteration turns out, good or bad, it will not be the same. You can re-make a King Kong Movie over and over but you really can’t do a remake of The Music Man. If you know what I mean jellybean.
